Whats the word on Singleton in practice? Solid player? Will he start next year?
-
I don't know how he looks in practice, but I would think...
Pg Caddy
SG DJO
SF Wilson
PF Crowder
C. Otule

Just noticed Singleton's stats from High Point - 54% FTs and an assist for every TO.

That's why he's a walk-on.

It's possible, I suppose, that he's become much, much better over the last year. But for now, I wouldn't count on a backup at High Point as your starting point guard at Marquette.
-
My guess is that the backup PG will be DWilson, and if he cannot, Blue.
-
PG- Vander- way too athletic and good to have on the bench next year. This offseason he puts it all together
SG- DJO
SF- Wilson
PF- Crowder
C- Gardner
Backup PG- Junior
Backup 2/3- Jones- if he can put it together, he can be a dangerous 6/7 man and be our shooter
Otule- 15 mins/game of good solid defense/rebouding. Maybe Otule starts and Ox is offense off the bench.
There is probably room for one more player to get into the rotation. I see either EWill putting it together, Anderson being good enough, or Buzz signing a JUCO who is ready to go. I don't see Singleton in there honestly.

Definitely 3 guards. However, Dont want Blue and DJO controlling the bball.

For whatever it is worth, when Wes Matthews was asked which of all the newcomers impressed him most during the Milwaukee Summer Pro-Am - he replied: Dave Singleton.
Seriously. I saw some clips of Singleton, and he looked pretty darn good to me - especially considering he will be walk on status. I doubt he came to MU to ride the bench for the rest of his college career..when he was a starter as a freshman at High Point..
Just a few food for thought nuggets..

My best friend went to High Point and when I told him Dave Singleton was transeferring to MU, he said we were getting a solid player. I know the Big South is nowhere near as good as the big east, however, i am still eager to see how he will perform at this level. If he can even provide a spark in practice and make our other players better, I will be happy. Anything else would just be a bonus IMO.
