Title: National Marquette Day
Post by: Skatastrophy on January 20, 2011, 04:50:15 PM
Is there anything going on that day in MKE besides the pregame at Center Court (and game-watching party) and then the game at the BC?

My buddy owns a popular bar on Water St and wants to do something for MU fans and is trying to figure out what National Marquette Day is all about.

Anything missing?  Any suggestions for a bar owner wanting to throw MU fans a party on the 29th?

Burning of a Syracuse flag, dart board made from a picture of Boeheim, shuttle service to the game, DJ/MC to play music and host games/events/competitions etc., and cheap beer.

EDIT: Also hang a large MU flag outside the bar.

I believe Center Court is the main thing that MU has put together.  If your friend contacts the MU Alumni Association, they might be able to help him get involved.  Here (http://www.marquette.edu/alumni/about-allstaff.php (http://www.marquette.edu/alumni/about-allstaff.php)) is the link to the Alumni Association staff at MU.  It might be too late to get involved for this year but it may help him for the future.

What's our record on National Marquette Days? 2-15? 3-14? I know it's absolutely awful.
