It's probably just me, but I was a little annoyed with the student section when Frozena was about to enter the game. No love for EWill, Jones, or Gardner when they enter, but the student section goes apesh!t when the frozen one takes off his warmups.
Felt bad for the backups, especially Erik, who was trying to shoot free throws when the crowd erupted.
That being said, the fix was definitely in last night, and the team responded like true Warriors.
Frozena should not play in another game.

Do you really think e will, jones and gardner want to be cheered because they only play in blow out wins at the end of the game? Maybe you are just easily annoyed.
Right - its one thing to cheer a walk - on, quite another to cheer scholi players.

Thay may be the case ;D. But If I was there, I definitely would have cheered for Erik's attempt at the facial, as well as OX getting in the game.
plain & simple, FroYo is the human victory cigar . . . besides, if there's one BE game he should play in, it's vs DPU when we're up 30+! Light 'em up!

Are you suggesting racism because they cheer so wildly for the only white player?
Next year the walk-on will be Singleton. Let's see how enthusiastic they are when he comes in.
Personally I think any player paying tuition on the basketball team should be cheered when he comes in.

Uh personal foul there. Only unfounded claims of racism are allowed to be thrown at Chicos.
No, I was annoyed because, to me, the student section did not seem to be in the game at all until Frozena was checking in. There was action on the floor (most specifically Williams dunk attempt) and crickets.
If you're going to get annoyed at anything from last night it should be the inability of our team to slam home a rebound...I think I counted 4 or 5 times last night where Jae, Jimmy, Chris, or Buycks tried to tip a miss back in and wound up being a De Paul rebound after a couple of attempts.
Also, if you want to drive the lane and insure a trip to the foul line, don't go up for a lay up that can easily be blocked, go up with the intention of slamming it home, and forcing them to hack you if they want to try and defend the hoop.

Kind of like Ewill did.
Anyone else notice Ewill's first defensive possession he gave up a D rebound. Did not block out his guy after his guy shot. Turned around and went straight to the rim. Ball bounced right over his head to his guy....
He didn't make the shot, but at least he tried slam it home...I'll take the effort.
On the defensive end, he's not the only one who has issues rebounding.
Watching Davante at the end of the game last night, I couldn't help but think he just looks disinterested or tired. I'd like to see him move more aggressively. And while I'm on how he looks, maybe it's been said before, but does anyone think Davante looks like Tracy Morgan?
Frustrated, maybe?

He's a freshman playing on a team that's in the best conference in the country. He's supposed to be frustrated. Hopefully he uses it as motivation to improve his game. He'll be load if that happens.
I thought E Will looked frustrated as well. I hope he keeps working hard and earns additional opportunities to contribute yet this year. E Will at the very least could fill a Fulce Type role. Go E Will.

Yes, but he's also seeing the sophomore center has passed over him and grabbing playing time.

I'd love to see Ewill, Jamail and Davonte get more time too. esp in games where we're solidly in the lead.
(and I cheer for them as loudly as i do for Frozen-A) few of those guys looked frusterated that they weren't getting playing time. Can only hope they look at the positive, study film more, work hard in the gym and practice and earn some more time, as opposed to giving up and quitting (like maymon and smith)
Why do people believe that if players don't get a couple more minutes in mop up duty that it means transfer? I would think that their roots would run deeper that four versus six minutes aren't going to mean much.

IDL90,
I totally hear ya on the student section, though. It's the first day of the semester, so what is their excuse for absence?!! A game is a game and you should be at every conference game you can be at, DPU or no. To that end, DePaul's traveling cheer-squad of 35 oftentimes outcheered those 100s/1000s of MU students. Gotta hand it to them for their unrequited dedication -- very glad to be an MU fan!!
It was definitely good entertainment value, anyone else up in the nosebleeds with me get to hear all their venom?? At one point they were chanting about Reggie transferring, etc., and about their freshmen scoring, and our fans got fed up and started "What's your record?" and then THEY countered with "student section rejects". (ummmm, this is where people pay to sit, fellas...) finally, BC security beefed up abit and some MPD finest also graced the entryway with their presence.
The worst part to me was their classless shirts -- i understand you have nothing to lose (except more games), but honestly, if you can't even compete close to our level of play, i think you should leave the vulgarity out (hint: think about what we chant about the Badgers)

Not saying a lack in PT means a player will transfer. I'm saying its my hope they don't. We've scene situations where DO do that. We see these guys for 40 minutes two times a week. don't know what goes on in practice/class

Just two. Seemed to fit into both, not trying to cause any trouble.
I'd just really like to see more of Jamail, even in short spurts. I hear he could be considered the best catch and shoot guy on our team. But, Ewil I have pretty much written off.

I think Otule started the year #1 on the old depth chart at the 5, don't you? And again, this is exactly the way it should be and the way it usually is at the top programs. The older guys are more advanced and are more likely to earn the minutes. It takes a truly phenomenal freshman (or the total lack of a decent alternative) to come in and earn immediate PT at a good program like Marquette.
I understand there's concern about the younger guys getting frustrated with their limited in-game roles. But hopefully all this character talk we hear from Buzz is sinking in and the younger guys understand that the competition is making them better and that their time to have a major role in the actual games will come.

Jamail will have plenty of opportunity with Buycks leaving after this year and DJO after the next.
