In the last 3 minutes, we took one timeout...with 4 seconds left to play in the game and trailing by 1 point.
I find myself wondering why Buzz doesn't call more timeouts also...you can't take them to the next game....but at the same time, after the 30 seconed TO at 3:11, we were up 5 with 1:30 to play and L'ville called two timeouts after that point so it's not like he didn't have a chance to huddle up with the team.
I would have preferred Buzz to call TO after Louisville went on a 5-0 run. Buzz waited, Cadougan turned it over, 7-0 run. Buzz calls TO. Louisville got it to 15-0 run before he called TO again I think.
I just wished he used them more to blunt the other teams momentum. He always saves them for the end of the game, and many times we leave 1 or 2 on the board, even in close games that come down to the last shot.

In Buzz we trust.

The timeouts were fine. We wanted the clock to run, not stop. Keep trying though.

Calling a timeout after a UL score would have zero impact on the game clock. It doesn't run any faster if you don't call a timeout.
Perhaps you should keep trying, though.

Actually, your wrong. The clock stops after a made basket if you call a timeout. If you don't call one it keeps running. Keep trying though.

You have 35 seconds for your offensive possession. If you call TO, you still have 35 seconds to inbound the ball and take a shot at the other end. If the clock is running between the shot made and inbounding the ball, you might run off 3 seconds. The difference is negligible enough that you aren't going to take enough time off the clock to not call one to stop the other teams momentum and set up a play for your offensive possession.

Sorry, but you're wrong.
The clock doesn't stop after a made basket. It will stop when we call the timeout, which doesn't have to occur until after we've retrieved the ball and attempted to put it in play.
Let's look at two examples.
UL Scores with 2:40 to go.
Scenario 1 (no time out) UL Scores with 2:40 to go. MU retrieves the ball, takes it out under the UL basket, and inbounds at 2:35. The shot starts at :35 when an MU player receives the inbounds pass. MU dribbles out most of the 35 second clock, puts up a desperation shot, UL rebounds. Game clock reads 2:00.
Scenario 2 (time out called): UL Scores with 2:40 to go. MU retrieves the ball, takes it out under the UL basket, then calls timeout at 2:35. After the timeout, the game clock still reads 2:35. When the ball is inbound, the game clock and shot clock start. MU dribbles out most of the 35 second clock, and runs a set play, which they make. Game clock reads 2:00.

We wanted the clock to run while staying composed and knowing what to do....unfortunately that wasn't the case....even Buzz said he was going to call a timeout when Bucks had the ball but decided not to.
What exactly am I trying?
