Title: OT: Hypothetical Rant
Post by: MUEng92 on March 10, 2007, 09:05:25 PM
Say a Big Ten referee has a "side" job as a police officer in Wisconsin.  Then, let's say he is stopped at a red light and a Badger basketball player drives past him, through the red light and causes an accident.  Would the he still continue the Big Ten referee code and let the Badger player get away without a ticket?

This scenario came to mind after watching the 1st half of the Illinois-Wisconsin game, when someone in red clotheslined an Illini player just before the halftime buzzer, with a whistle no where to be heard.  And those flops that are actually called charges....  If they are so bad that Jim Nantz can see them as flops, the referees should just be embarrassed.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.  I should not let them bother me so much.  I seriously need to consider moving out of this state for my own well being.  You know, to any of the other 49 states, where people actually still remember that UW used to be the laughingstock of the Big Ten in virtually every sport.

Sorry, there I go again.  I just can't make it stop.  Someone help me!

I was amazed with the calls that Bucky got in their game against Illinois today... granted Tucker is their player of the year, and the Big Ten, along with Big Ten fans, still believe they should get two number 1 seeds, what a joke.  The 1 seeds should be Kansas, Florida, UNC and then the winner of the WI/OSU game.

Bucky has still yet to have a player foul out this year... but are a hard-working defense, those two things don't go together.

I was at the game today and had to laugh when a " FIB " chant broke out from some of the Bucky faithful seated in my area......... maybe that was directed at Lockport High School grad Alando Tucker for passing Proviso East High School grad Michael Finley for number one on the Wiskey scoring list?
