Title: Gorgui Dieng
Post by: goldeneagles43 on January 12, 2011, 12:33:31 PM
Pretty sure he leads the big east in blocked shots or blocks per minute maybe both. Kid is an absolute eraser and starts over terrence jennings for looeyville. We must be aggressive against louisville and hit our open 3s, do that and we win.

Wish we would have landed Dieng....though it was rumored that Otule solidly outplayed him when Dieng visited..

The announcers were really talking up Gorgui tonight. It's always interesting to see where guys like him, who were close to becoming MU players end up. I'm glad he's doing well for himself, his story is pretty cool. Hope we beat him on saturday!!

Dieng got in an altercation with Otule during his recruiting visit. To bad, we really could have used him!

Huh.

So, no merit to the whispers that Otule solidly outplayed Dieng on his visit? Wonder if that was just a tidbit manufactured in the minds of a select few.........

No, not really Lanche.  Ever think that Dieng might have gotten frustrated with Otule outplaying him - not uncommon for an athlete to get into an altercation with an adversary that is outplaying them.

Now, would you care to comment on those whispers you heard that Buzz has lost this year's team?  3-1 in the Big East, convincing wins over WVU, Notre Dame, and Rutgers.  Seems the guys are still playing pretty hard for a coach who's "lost them," according to you and your "whispers."

This was actually a fact. O'Tule is going to have a big day on Saturday.

Well I wouldn't want to get schooled by a glass eyed dude either.

True or not, Dieng has been coached-up a bit now at "Ville.  So, we shall see.

I'd love to see Otule play longer in this game.  He's proven that he can score and he can run the court well.  Give him PT and his confidence level will soar - and this indeed will help MU win!

True, but Chris has had 2 more years of being coached.

Hopefully this provides Chris with some extra fuel this weekend. Would love to see him throw it into beast mode and play like he's got something to prove against Dieng. Maybe he can get under his skin early and throw him off his game.
