Is it just me? Or...
1) Do 90% of DB's shots seem to be straight out of an NBA2k game? I mean honestly, he is like a personification of myself playing any semi-realistic bball video game ever invented:
"Damn passing is hard! I'm just going to keep pressing the ISO button, and try to shake and bake my defender...
hmm that's not working. Well I'll keep at it...
Oh no! The shot clock is winding down.
No time for strategy now, time to jack up a three"
2) Does DJO kiiind of look like Kanye West?
No real comment on either of those, but a couple more random observations from kenpom.com today.
- Bucknell is predicted to win all but one of their games the rest of the season, and that one loss is by an expected 1 point. Nice RPI boost if they win out (though predicted for 3 losses based on some close percentages).
- Duke is expected to win out. Granted, that close loss will help our RPI regardless...
- South Dakota is expected to have only one more loss, that by an expected 2 points.
- Gonzaga is also expected to only lose one more game, at St. Mary's.
Just nice to see so many of the teams we played, even some of the cupcakes, expected to have great conference success. I don't expect to see big boosts from the Bucknells or South Dakotas of the world, but if Bucknell becomes a top 100 win (possible) and South Dakota a top 200, as well as being potential conference champs and tourney teams, it would be kind of nice on our resume.
Not as nice as a sweep of Notre Dame, but still nice.

Wrong.
A close loss and a blowout have EXACTLY the same RPI impact. There is no "margin of victory" factor in the RPI. You win, or you lose. That's it.
Don't take my word for it. Here's what Ken Pomeroy has to say:
http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/rpi_help/ (http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/rpi_help/)
"
How does the RPI factor in margin of victory? It doesn't."
We could have lost to Duke by 50 and we would have the exact same RPI we have today.
Other ratings--pomeroy, dunkel, etc.--incorporate margin of victory. But not the RPI.

Haha, I have a friend who thinks the exact same thing, but no...he does not.
Look back at Buycks' made shots. His follow-through was PICTURE PERFECT!
Extended arm, wrist and fingers.
It was his Mona Lisa game!
Great picture of JB shooting a jumper with perfect form in the LA Times today

Kind of amazed anything more than a score made the LA Times, since they don't seem to care much about teams east of the Rockies generally. There are some good pictures in their online article (http://www.latimes.com/sports/nationworld/wire/sns-ap-bkc-t25-notre-dame-marquette,0,5033977.story) though I don't see one of Butler.

His stroke is textbook, but his body control, especially his lower body, while he's shooting is terrible.

No but my friend is the caucasian version of DJO (or is DJO the swarthier doppelganger of my friend?) I will try to find a suitable photo.

No, he stepped into those.
If you have ever played somewhat competitive BBall (H.S. Varsity or higher) you would have taken those shots many times during shoot around or though out the offseason. They are not high percentage, but DB looked to have stepped into the shot rather than hucking. The three when he got the ball with B.H. closing extremely hard and he put the ball down once on the floor and shot in rhythm was something beautiful.
I want to watch that over and over again and take notes on it so I can be like. "son when the defender comes at you this quickly do not immediately pull the trigger, make one dribble and go up knowing you will make the shot."
