WOW....the hits just keep on coming!
Wow...that's actually kind of sad...hate seeing a kid - even if he did diss Marquette - throwing away potential, or creating more hurdles in their life than there need be...
Truly disappointing, as he seemed to have put his troubles behind him and was undoubtedly excelling with the Gophers.

If the story in this link is true then this is pretty weak.

My guess is that the gopherhole might not be sharing the whole story.
He got arrested for a facebook post? Geez, what a way to go down....
Shut up to all that say we should have kept him on and who wish we still had him. This kid is cancer to any team he plays on.
I believe that he was in trouble in JUCO also. The guy is a borderline convict!

I don't feel that bad now again that he is not at Marquette.
I'm happy the few of the stories about him don't mention that he started at MU.

The Scene: County Lock Up
Convict: What are you in for?
Mbakwe: Facebook post...

But, will Tubby and UM finally dump him? Not a chance.

From what I've heard, it's likely he won't even be disciplined by the team.
If all he did was post on a facebook, this might be on of the most ridiculous things ive ever heard someone going to jail over.

Violating a restraining/no contact order is not ridiculous....there is a reason she had to get a restraining/no contact order....we do not know the facts or background of the order. Posting on a facebook page is breaking the law in this instance.
EDIT: Ramsey County Jail is very far from a fun experience.....no JayBee I have not stayed there, I have friends that are deputies and have toured the place.

It's pretty simple, really. When a judge orders you, "don't do that or you'll go to jail," then you should be smart enough to not do it. Look at it this way: he's being punished for being stupid, not for posting on Facebook.

I am still disappointed how everything played out and I do wish that in the future we could be cool again. What an idiot. Sorry... but...
"I know we haven't talked in forever" - because she had a no contact order out on you dude!
"I'm not trying to start any drama with nobody in your life or anything" - Dude! She hates you enough to never want to hear from you again!
"I am still disappointed how everything played out" - Ok, now you're just being creepy.
"Well idk if u will respond or not but best wishes for 2011." - Yeah, I guess she responded. Hopefully your night in jail taught you the the no contact order wasn't just for kicks.
No means NO Trevor.
maybe im missing something or could be convinced otherwise, but am i the only one that thinks its remarkably classless of UM to release the message in question?

I have to believe he approved the release, maybe to demonstrate the message itself was benign, and it wasn't like he was threatening the woman. I understand he shouldn't have been reaching out to her at all, but the release may be to fight the assumption many likely had that the message was threatening or something along those lines.

That's probably true. I kind of feel bad for the guy. Did he do something wrong? Of course. Does he deserve what he got? Sure. I'm not justifying it. But people do irrational and stupid things in relationships and breakups, and this seems pretty minor. I hope this is a wake up call to him and he just learns from it and moves forward.
Edit: Also a little strange she had a restraining order on him yet hadn't blocked him on facebook. If you already went to the cops, wouldn't you at least think about cutting off all forms of contact?
why wouldnt she have to approve the release as well? his conduct toward her was the original reason for all this. doesn't seem like UM should be able to just release the message even with Mbakwe's consent, its just more disempowering of a victim (who was victimized again by the violation of the order, in the legal sense, even if the contact seems trivial)

One of the first articles linked seems to indicate he contacted her via a mutual friend's account.
Edit - oh there it is
