From the bozos doing the Rutgers game who didn't do their research on Marquette to Canellis (sp?) and Simpkins who are terrible. Canellis mis-states about one out of four sentences. Anyone catch when he repeated the exact same thing Simpkins had said 30 seconds before? Or Simpkins "simplistic" analysis? Can't they find some quality for these games?
Simpkins and Len Elmore are both horrible announcers.
I hear Brad Galli is available.
is anyone else amused that in back-to-back games the announcers have been unable to say Johnson-Odom, instead just calling him Odom?
I heard Lou C say DJO right at least 4 times...
Simpkins was slobbering all over "Big G". It was getting distracting.
IMO, Canellis is better when teamed with Mike Kelly. Simpkins just fumbles his thoughts too much.

He should slobber over him--he was a man among boys out there.
When the announcer used the phrase "Oh Snap" for one of Buycks threes... I knew this would be hopeless.
Jon McGlocklin should teach a basketball announcing 101 class. Tell me how many fouls guys have, how many fouls to the bonus. Set the situation of what's going on in the game every time down the floor. Tell me that MU needs to make stops. Stop and a score. Tell me stats about what's going on in the game. Then, if you have time, tell me some interesting tidbit about a player or give me an opinion about whatever. I know its repetitive, but its useful, as opposed to the random thoughts of someone who probably watches 3 or 4 MU games per year.

His obsession with Big G was annoying. Good player but talk about ugly lol.

That was awful, I turned to my girlfriend and said "yeah, I noticed that...ten seconds ago when your partner said the same exact thing!" Woeful announcing today.
Normally, I like Canellis, but I think he played down to his partner today.
Thus far, it seems like when we go on the road, we get the home television talent.
Didn't see the telecast of the WVU game. Did we have our guys doing that one?

That's not so bad, considering our own Bradley Center announcer during the West Virginia contest repeatedly called DJO out as "Darius JACKSON-Odom." Huh?

By far the best part of the game.
It is a regional broadcast. JEEZZ!!!!
Who cares about announcing...They seemed alright by me. Told us how many fouls and all that stuff, got excited for big plays, and had tidbits about each players.
Not everybody is Chick Hearn or Bob Uecker

Pretty sure he and Brittney Griner are the same person.

I seriously doubt Mike Jakubowski was mispronouncing DJO--though I do think he tends to bark out his name a little bit perhaps? Then again, when I watch the Bucks, I always feel like their announcer calls them the "Box". :/

MU needs to make stops!

Sign him up. A stop and a score and a stop and a score, and we're right back in this one.
Lou Canellis was great when he did MU games in the Conf. USA days. Maybe he is getting old.
Dear, Mr. Canelis, Stop calling DJO "Odom" first of all. His last name is "Johnson-Odom" for a reason (probably)
Also he called "Cadougan" "CAD-eh-gin" at least three times.
Bottom of the barrel announcers who are paid very little money to do games on ESPN3. That's what you are going to get.

I actually like calling him "Kay-doo" to myself... well better than calling him a Cad I suppose!
I'll never forget Hayward becoming "Haywood" and when they didn't realize Dominic was pronounced "neek" not "nick".

This doesn't bother me. We all know who they are talking about. Announcers used to call Kareem "Jabbar" instead of "Abdul-Jabbar" sometimes. A 4 syllable name is a pain to spit out when you're trying to describe what's going on in a game that moves as fast as basketball.
Simpkins is horrible, and he's been doing this for a while now so I don't think he is going to get much better. Wenzel goes into games with an idea that these are the points I want to make and he tries to shoehorn them into the game whether they apply or not, but he's OK.
I have never in my life watched a game or not watched a game because of who was calling it, and I imagine most fans are the same. So I don't think the networks worry too much about the commentators, unless they are offensive. (And I think announcing bothers us a lot more when we're losing)

I don't like how Simpkins does the games either but I will give him credit for actually knowing the facts about our team and the guys on it. At least he has that going for him.
