Title: How about we call MU for some halftime fouls
Post by: Detfan23 on March 08, 2007, 09:55:36 PM
Damn these refs are really taking it to Marquette on the foul calls.  How much is Grey paying them?

I don't have a problem if some stuff gets called, but it needs to be called on both sides of the court.  I think Pitt has about 15 more FT attempts than Marquette, and that just isn't right.

going into the final minute at the BC. But this is just out and out ridiculous. A 16-3 edge in FTs??? Why not hand them a berth in the semifinals and get it over with?

It is right...fouls ar eonly 11-7. Pitt is just getting the ball inside every time down, so our fouls have been on their shots. Its not the refs, its our inability to stop those entry passes.

No kidding, hopefully the refs take a look at that during halftime and make the appropriate adjustments.  Not likely though, the Big East would love having it's top 4 in the final games.

Naivin, the fouls were 10-2 until the last five minutes. Pitt's a physical team; there's no way the fouls should be that one-sided.

however .. we'd get a few calls if we weren't chucking NBA 3s.

Way too many fouls being called.

Its the inconsistency in the foul calls.  One first half sequence I recall was Gray flattening Barro on a shot and its a no-call.  A play or two later at the other end, MU got hit with a charge.

I think every rebound scrum under the Pitt basket wound up with an MU foul, whereas the refs seemed to let a lot more contact go after an MU shot attempt.
