Just wondering if the young alumni are meeting at Garage for the Rutgers game tonight. Looking for a good Marquette crowd tonight.
Yes, there will be a MUYAA viewing party tonight at the Garage and for every away game this year. We had about 80 people for the Duke game, 10-12 for Gonzaga (go figure), and about 40 for the Vandy game. Hopefully, we will start getting a more consistent crowd with conference play now in full swing.
For anyone else who is interested, details can be found through the following link...

Why not a venue on Old World 3rd or Water St? Or the 3rd Ward? You know, Marquette's side of town. Plenty of good sports bars around town that aren't by UW-M.
2.3 miles from Garage to UWM. 2.6 miles from Garage to MU...
My guess is that there are more young alum that live on the Lower East side than downtown or the third ward.

The ones I know live in 5th Ward and Bay View. The East Side is for UW-M students and retirees that want to live in a "hip" neighborhood.

Looks like I should either retire or enroll at UWM...
East side is great. Just because UWM is there does not mean it is free of MU Alums. Nearly all of my friends that graduated from MU and still like in Milwaukee live there.
Hey guys - I'm the one who organized the Young Alumni Association viewing parties this year. Based on the young alumni we were able to talk to, there was a strong preference for either an east side or third ward location. We decided on The Garage based on their availability and specials they were able to give us. They were one of the few bars that was able to promise the MU game would be on the majority of TV's and we'd have sound.
Let me know if there's any bars you think we should look at for future season (or anything else you'd like to see at the parties). On a side note - The Young Alumni Association is always looking for new members to help plan future events (both basketball and non-basketball). Let me know if you're interested and I can get you the details for our next board meeting so you can see if it'd be a good fit for you.
Hope to see some of you at the party tonight!

That's too bad. Don't worry though. I'm sure they'll be back on their feet in no time.
Anybody know of a good place to watch in Washington County. I have Dishnetwork and almost all of the tw32 games are blacked out. Even on masn... >:(

If you go out on Water St or Old World 3rd post college, the problem is you.
Brady Street is great. Heart of Milwaukee. Garage is a fantastic call.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a few bars on 3rd (Brathaus and OGBH) and occasionally BarNone on Water (and if I'm really feeling crazy, Trinity)...but the bars on Brady, North, and some down on BayView are a lot more enjoyable for the most part.

Have lived on Prospect, near Brady for 2.5 years now and love it.
And yes, there are a ton of young alums in this area. I've encountered more here than down in Bay View.
