UWV barely takes out DePaul in front of 12 Blue Demon fans.
We better come ready to go tomorrow. These bottom teams are bringing it this year especially at home. Providence has already done it twice and now DePaul. No taking Rutgers lightly at all.
First time around the conference is always tough. Melvin and Young are good looking frosh for DPU.
Evil, were you at Bradford Beach for that beach ball toss?

Any second now my favorite poster, Sren, will be coming after you for being so negative toward MU with this post.

I am not sure what you are referring to, how does this support or refute the original post?

WVU might be Marquettes only BEAST win. I would cherish it.

LOL. You know as well as anyone if I had started this thread with the exact same words, 4 or 5 of the same clowns would be in major meltdown mode.

Back to something relevant, I've been to a few DPU games this year...Young is for real and Melvin has a real motor on him...really wish we could have beat Purnell out for his services this past spring...

A team MU beat got a conference win on the road. That's not a bad thing for Marquette.

Yeah... Don't get it. Even though its a down year for the BE, the rule still holds: YOU MUST WIN AT HOME BECAUSE EVERY ROAD WIN IS TOUGH.
This topic has zero merit. WVU won. If they had lost then we could talk about the quality of the win last Saturday or lack thereof. The previous posts are correct, a road win is tough as hell. See Syracuse at DePaul last year. Cuse took their first lead of the game with 3:18 left in the game and were down by 15 in the first half (They, too, won by two).

You often refer to the 'same 4 or 5'... why doesn't this number start to go up when others comment on how much they dislike your schtick? i.e., when they say things like, "you're insufferable", "you ruin every post", "I want to punch you", etc.?
I know you love the RPI in November, but I think you can appreciate forecasts of where the RPI will be when it matters. I know the '4 or 5' is substantially higher currently, but imagine what it will be by the end of this season? Maybe the '4 or 5' simply have a special place in your 'heart' so much that you call them names and attack them personally nonstop, even in threads where they haven't even commented.... i.e., this thread is an example.

It's clear he's differentiating between the "4 or 5" who have an unhealthy compulsion to do it over, and over, and over again and the newbies who comment once and move along. Everyone knows who the "4 or 5" are (just like everyone knows who the "4 or 5" on the other side of things are).
I'm sure he'd argue that your post helps prove his point. How I wish everyone (including me, I guess) would experience the same clarity as Ners
claims, and simply knock this stuff off.

I know, funny thing is, if all of us were to meet outside the message board, we'd probably be all sharing beer and enjoying each others conversations. A lot gets misconstrued on these boards.
A lot like when wvu barely beat cleveland state last year then went final 4. If we goin and beat pitt it would still be a huge win even though they barely beat providence. Wvu is on pace for a top 20 rpi and will be a quality win in the final analysis unless they lose a ton.

Agree. In any event, can't extrapolate things based on one game. Just silly.
That WVU team is closing in on another BEast road win, leading the Hoyas in DC by 3 with 1:18 to play. Looking like a better win by the second.
final 64-59 WV wins at GT.
So I guess it was a pretty good win............
Life in the Big East!! ;D ;D
Tons of WVU fans in the upper deck. It seems like every G'town home Big East game I watch, there is tons of road fan at the game.
This is going to be a wild ride in the Big East this year..just wild. Cincy, St. Johns playing good ball, the usual suspects, and then the wildcard teams like GTown, MU, Notre Dame and L'ville.
Does UCONN win at Texas today? That would be HUGE for the Big East. Hopefully UCONN pulls it out..to further show the strength of the Big East.
Think there will be a lot of 9-9 type teams in the Big East...and therefore any continued high-profile non-conference wins the league can get..the better. Just wish MU would have beaten Vandy..would have been a huge win for the team and league. 9-9 certainly doesn't look sexy, but it could translate into an NCAA bid this year for some Big East teams..
Meanwhile, SU is 10-23 on FT's, Thankfully, Eddie Hightower is in Jersey.
G.Town ranked after this week? Unlikely.

So...
Every win in the Big East is a good win. I am having a hard time grasping the point of this thread. Conference play is a grind and all our boys can do is bring it every week, every game, and every possession. Forget the last game you played and keep grinding.

No, maybe GT should feel silly. Bottom line is West Virginia isn't very good and MU is no better than .500 in the BE at best.

Pomeroy seems to disagree...and he has done a pretty damn good job predicting our performance thus far. You care to put your money or pride where your mouth is? By your words above, you indicate it is likely MU finishes with fewer than 9 wins in conference. I'll take that action.

I hope G'town is still ranked. With wins over ODU, Mizzou, Utah St., Memphis and NC State.
