Title: Crean's onto someone...
Post by: 77ncaachamps on January 04, 2011, 08:25:49 PM
Crean's Tweets (from earlier today):

"I just received word that the fake twitter thats being used by a very troubled person is reporting false things on that account."

"Like I dont have enough going on that I need to respond to this. This is the only twitter account for me."

I think TC was referring to this tweet by a certain CoachTomCrean (yesterday):

"So proud of my bro in law. New coach for the 49ers!"

His brother in law wouldn't happen to be a Harbaugh, would he? Wonder Tony LaRussa thinks about this?

Not much funnier than a dimwitted guy with no sense of humor being goofed on by one of Scoop's finest. And now that TC has been tipped off (a PM from his former boy Friday?) it's even better.

FWIW, I didn't see anything in his tweet that made me think that he just found out about the account.  In fact, I think his tweet suggests that he knew about the account.  You may disagree.  I think that this is probably just the first time that he felt compelled to respond...to discredit a rumor about a family member.

In any event, this is holy grail in fake twitter accounts -- having the real person engage.  Congrats and nice work.

Does this refer to going winless in the Big Ten this year, despite having aTop 10 class that is now sophomores?  Seems to think Zeller coming in will change things.  When is the last time a 190 lbs 6'10 freshman made a significanrt difference for his team?  His brothers sure did not. Bottom 3 finish for IU in 2012 too.  ;D

I guess I just assumed had he known about the account he would have had it taken down as soon as possible.  Isn't Twitter pretty strict about false identities on their site, or am I way off base?

A few questions:

1) I wonder which of Tommy's interns is in charge of his Twitter account?

2) If they did in fact just find out about it, does IU offer any courses with the word "Investigative" or "Research" in the title?

3) If it's been known by the TC Twitter Team for some time, why the response now?  I didn't know the Harbaughs were such a sensitive topic.  (When your family member is a celebrity in his/her own right, is he/she off-limits?)

CTC did go after Joanie rather hard.

"what I didn't tell him was, I snuck a pair of joanie's panties in the box too. I love it when Dwyane cuckolds me."

Obviously, I have no idea whether they knew about the account previously, but was just offering my opinion on what he said.

The Harbaugh thing could have finally drawn him out because he might not want anything out there that could affect the job-search (and/or he doesn't want to get scooped before he has a chance to leak the story).

Didn't John Harbaugh spill the beans on some radio station and then it showed up on ESPN? What a butcher job, however typical for the a-hole.

This whole thing is sophomoric and yet at a visceral level it is devastatingly funny. Takes one back to those simpler days of burning bags on porches and prank phone calls. But Warrior is correct - having the victim engage confirms victory. If Ziggy is flying this jet he has nbot just earned his wings but should be elevated to Ace status.

This is fodder for Round Two: "Since John spilled the beans on my butt screwing Marquette, let me be the first to congratulate Jim on doing the same to Stanford as he takes his act to Ann Arbor..." It hits the Bronzed Beast of Bloomington on many levels...

I remember when this was posted the first time...and I thought then what I think now...Jack Harbaugh is an staggering ego maniac. Who, in that room, gave a rat's ass about the Stanford v USC game? He's basically slapping himself on the back for what a great son he has. I wonder why he didn't mention that he was basically  stealing money from Marquette University. Chicago-style ghost-payrolling at its finest.

I would say "loser" Jack Harbaugh has accomplished some pretty impressive things professionally and personally.

He won a college national title as a player, he won a national title as a head coach.  Coached in the pros and major college ball (Michigan, Iowa, etc).  One son played in the NFL.  Another is the head coach in the NFL.  All his kids are well educated, good people....that stuff usually happens because of parenting.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's not a loser.

looks like coach tom crean was right.....

Jim Harbaugh agreed to a five-year, $25 million contract to become the San Francisco 49ers' head coach Friday, according to team and league sources.

The 49ers announced a news conference scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET, but did not indicate the reason.

Earlier Friday, a source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Stanford was the favorite to retain Harbaugh's services.

On Thursday, Harbaugh met with top Stanford officials -- including university president John Hennessey -- so that the school could make its best offer to try to retain him. The university reportedly increased an offer it had made to Harbaugh in December.

The 49ers met with Harbaugh Wednesday, and a source said that on Thursday night, after news broke that Harbaugh would not go to the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco was willing to increase its offer.

Information from ESPN.com's Adam Schefter and The Associated Press was used in this report.

I don't think the elder Harbaugh "put" two of his kids into the NFL as head coaches.  You make it sound like he picked up the phone, called the team owners, and made them offers they couldn't refuse.

That being said, put me in the camp of Mr Harbaugh as "not a loser".

Correct....but typically a person is shaped by their parents, their environment, etc, etc.  That's what I meant...he and his wife I'm sure are very proud of the accomplishments of their children.  I can't imagine there are too many parents that have two kids as head coaches in the NFL.  Quite an accomplishment.

"SB 1411 makes it a misdemeanor to impersonate someone on the Internet. Anyone, according to the statute, who "knowingly and without consent credibly impersonates another actual person through or on a Web site" or by opening an e-mail account or social profile for purposes of harming, intimidating, threatening or defrauding another person is guilty of a misdemeanor. coachtomcreans's "time to tan" tweet got a big laugh on local radio here in central IN and I think that was the final straw.  hehe....

Tom Crean has simply been a disaster at IU thus far, his teams are getting worse by the game.  Northwestern just kicked the Hoosier's ass's tonight and it was not as close as the final score stated.

He can't coach post men, he does not even attempt to throw the ball down low.  His teams are fundamentally the worst I have ever seen....   EVER.   All his offense tries to do is go one on one and hoist up a 3 at the last minute.  Or, we have witnessed this season a thing we Hoosier fans call the "dribble weave"   not "dribble drive" the "dribble weave"...   It is a thing to behold, 3 players all above the 3 point line all doing a Harlem Globetrotter figure 8.  ?-( :(

This Charlatan won 4 Big Ten games last season he will probably win less this season with the entire same team returning.   ?-(

I have had it with this snake oil salesman, after watching Bob Knight for over 25 years and then having Mike Davis and Tom Crean shoved down our throats is truly torture.   And Davis was a better coach than Crean.  At least his team played hard.  This is embarrassing, and what few Tom Crean apologists  that are left are even beginning to wonder if IU made a colossal mistake.

The time for excuses is over, and I think Crean is beginning to feel the heat.  He benched lazy ass Christian Watford for the first time in 2 years to start the second half tonight.

You all got lucky getting Buzz, he is a far superior coach than Crean.   And I don't care if all these 5 star players make it to IU....  (which I am doubting)    It won't matter, Crean can't coach them up.

Al McGuire was the best....     Good luck this year Marquette ....

If any of you want a good laugh, watch an IU game soon....

I watched the Harlem Globetrottters on espn this weekend.  Their offense does look like I4's.  3 man weave, a sideshow Bob on the bench coaching and a bunch of dudes launching "4 point shots".

LOL, this is nothing new to Tom Crean's offense (and was mostly called the three man weave here...).  If you're lucky, maybe IU can dig up a minor violation or two in the next couple years.  That would also get me out of losing a bet :)

Don't you lose the bet next year?   ;D

Can I ask what this big bet is?  I take it that it is when and if Bronzy gets canned.

Who all is involved?
