Who is more likely to make the NCAA Tourney, North Carolina or MU?
Option 1: MU

Option 2: North Carolina
votes: 24
Option 3: Neither
votes: 9
Option 4: Both
votes: 5
Some facts
Both teams are 9 and 4. Neither is ranked.
North Carolina
Has one quality win against Kentucky on a neutral court (a quality win that Kentucky keeps diminishing every week).
The ACC is horrible this year, Duke is #1 and no other ACC school is ranked. So, unless NC upsets Duke, they really have no more opportunities for quality wins. NC did not make the tourney last year.
Marquette
No quality wins yet
However, the BE is very strong this year and MU, as of right now, has 10 ranked opponents on its schedule (more if they make it far enough in the BE tourney).
I said MU based on strength of schedule (when was the last time we could say that when comparing ourselves to NC?), NC almost has to run the table at this point and they are not showing they are capable.

Last year.

Last year.
+1
Also, UNC has a better chance because of their name alone.
Fair to say the two teams are even matched at this point. More importantly, can you imagine the meltdown around here if we had North Carolina's talent level and was still the record we are (9-4) at this point? Holy mackerel.
Tar Heels, more talent, so more upside with legendary coach.

But the tar heels have no chances to show that upside. They only have two games against ranked teams, both are against #1 Duke.
The heels are wasting another season, MU has the better chance because they have more opportunities for quality wins.
And, yes, If Buzz Williams thinks he's being persecuted, try being Roy Williams this year wasting Harrison Barnes.
I think UNC has a legit chance at going 10-6 or at least 9-7 in the ACC this season.
Hard to imagine a team with 10 wins in the ACC being left out when they played a solid non-conference schedule.

I think you're making a bit much of the lack of ranked teams thing. No one but Duke may be ranked right now, but the ACC has enough teams in the next 25-50 spots to build a tourney resume. UNC has a signature non-conference win, no bad losses, and have played 2 true away games and several more neutral/"neutral" court games. Even last year's PAC-10 got 2 teams in the tourney - as we know too well - and that conference had a lot more terrible teams than the ACC has this year.

Could have said the same thing last year.
Absolutely correct, LT, but I not sure this year's Warrior team, will mature fast enough to finish better than last year's.
Besides, there was a soft bubble last year.

And looking at things this year, the bubble seems just as, if not softer than last year.
Also, don't forget there's 3 more spots in the dance this year.

What makes you think the bubble is softer this year?
To make the tourney this year I think we will now have to go 11-7 in BEast play. I don't see that happening. If i had to guess right now I would say we're NIT bound.
