the yellow sneakers?
-
SJU was wearing the all-red counterparts, which were almost as bad. Nike/tournament thing?

From Rosiak's blog. DJ didn't like them either (PRN will love his coordinating comment - hah)

Fashion statement: MU was one of three teams on Wednesday to hit the court sporting gaudy patent-leather sneakers.
They're the Nike Air Force 25s, a modernized version of one of the company's most popular basketball shoe lines designed with custom colors for each team playing in the post-season.
West Virginia's were navy blue with yellow trim; MU's were the opposite and looked even gaudier considering the Golden Eagles were wearing their white uniforms.
St. John's also wore a red and gray colorway.
"They're cool, but I'm going to ask coach if I can go back to my other ones tomorrow," said James. "Those are more my style. I've got to coordinate. These really don't go together. If we wear the gold (uniforms) it's cool, but we're rocking the white right now."
MU had been wearing a toned-down white and navy version of the same shoe the past few weeks.

At the end of the day, they're still kids and 19 year old kids want to look cool (DJ's comments are normal for a 19 year old).
From inside the building, I didn't think they looked horrible (then again we were in Spike Lee's building...Gotta Be The Shoes)
;)

I thought the shoes looked great. I liked them.

UGLY
-
Loved the shoes. Air Force Ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
well, I was leaving my opinion out, but I actually liked them
-
If James feels better and more comfortable wearing the old shoes then so be it. It's not like the new ones increased his shooting percentage!

Yes, but we've never lost in our history with the new shoes.

count me on the "awful" side. Something Ronald McDonald would wear.
-
I'm sort with James. With gold or blue unis, they'd look sweet. White unis, gotta go white shoes.
(unless of course it's after labor day. :-\)
-
I think they looked good, and might just be replacing my old black Nike Team Air's if these make it out to stores.

I LOVED those shoes. Wearing yellow shoes just said "Marquette Warriors" to me.

Nike Air Force 25
Here's a picture of the patent-leather Nike shoes MU is wearing in the Big East Tournament and that I touched on in my last blog entry.
They're available for sale at the Nike Air Force 25 Pop Shop at Madison Square Garden, and will be available on Niketown.com in the near future.
Save up your ducats - one pair will run you a cool $150.
-
gotta love the Air Kinsellas.

I know what you mean. MU has always been the different school. To some point our tradition is we don't have any traditions. Crazy unis that changed every year. I like the new shoes. I like whenever MU continues to be different. Let Indiana keep tradition alive, lets always be that wildcard.
