The Puerto Rico basketball federation on Monday introduced Pitino as its next coach. Pitino met with players and officials Sunday to discuss the possibility.
Puerto Rico last qualified for the Olympics in 2004, beating the United States on its way to a sixth-place finish. Its best Olympic performance was fourth, in 1964 in Tokyo. Potential players next summer include Dallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea, Miami Heat guard Carlos Arroyo and Denver Nuggets forward Renaldo Balkman.

Yup. His name is Ricardo Ledo, the #1 SG in the 2012 class. Theres a chance he will be playing on that team next summer, thus, Pitino will have full access to him.
Pitino has had several Latino players on his squads at Louisville, most of them coming via the US, so it's def a good idea to build some connections for the future. When I first saw it, I thought "ah, he will be making deep inroads with the Nuyoricans". Plus who doesn't love pasteles?
¡Boricua!

The only thing Pitino is interested in having full access to these days is knocking one off on a restaurant table.
