Raynor Rave 2010...

Any explanation of that for us old farts?
And why didn't anyone pour beer on the ground for a naked beer slide?
It's a Pop Cultural thing that just happens, except for this one. As a recent alumni, I think it's a good thing for those brains that don't leave the library during finals week.
I'm not quite sure what that feeling is like, as I never went to the library.

If you're into well planned events that have complete approval and cooperation from the university to help blow off steam during finals week, then Raynor Rave is the event for you.
Based on the video it looks like last years was better. Still impressive though.

Do the Spanish O'Donnells play?

No, but I am sure you will soon start seeing this video being used to entice the new breed of Marquette students. Those brainiacs whose only interest in partying is as long as it is in the library and fully supervised by Public Safety.
Still, it is pretty cool of Marquette to allow this to happen.

What is the appeal of this?

Really? Playing Miley Cyrus, an artist for children, is better in your opinion?

Last years was cooler because it hadn't been done before.

Marquette isn't the gold standard for innovation. Let's be honest, the concept wasn't new. the point is to improve. At least this year the music was more mature and they turned off the lights. Success.
This is probably the best video

Miley was better than that crap.
No homo.
I think Jimmy Butler would also agree that Party in the USA is better.

So now MU is into salvia?
Miley Cyrus target audience are tween girls and dirty old men. I am neither.
Why would I care about what music Jimmy Butler listens to? He can comment on his own time on the end of year music thread.

I bet Miley Cryus' record sales would disagree.

Do you buy Miley Cyrus records?

I don't think too many people buy records anymore, but I'm sure there's a large amount of Miley Cyrus CDs in every single dorm, even O'Donnell.

I am speechless. Is this a bit, or are you serious?

Serious. Go down to a girl's floor in your dorm, ask every girl if they have a Miley song on their iTunes. Let me know what you find.
I'm not disagreeing that it doesn't sell. Harry Potter, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc. they all generate sales. The point is that it is they are for children.

2-3 years ago, I would have agreed.
I recently got married and had a band play at the reception. We could only pick about 10 or 12 songs to play from an iPod in between their sets.
Party in the USA made the cut.

I don't remember that.

Generally, yes.
Father Raynor told me just before he died that unless you could get STP and a coked up Scott Weiland to play it, he did not want his name associated with this thing.
Why are you so upset about what song was played at the Raynor Rave last year?
Were you at this years and not last years and trying to justify this years being better?
Marquette Students are behind again... Raves arent as cool as Flash Mobs.. or Lip Dubs are the new college thing:
