Title: iPad Revisited - Apps?
Post by: StillAWarrior on December 14, 2010, 10:26:49 AM
I just received an iPad as a gift from my boss.  I'm pretty excited.

Any iPad users out there?  Any must-have apps?

http://gizmodo.com/5507569/gizmodos-essential-ipad-apps has a pretty solid list from ipod launch... I'm sure there are more must-haves since then.  I don't have an ipad personally but will say that even if you don't install a single other game, Labyrinth (2) is highly entertaining and perfect for the platform.

Is this a completely new app or just the iPhone app reformatted?  I am excited for this app!

Speaking of this, do any scoopers have iPad GameCenter accounts?

Completely new and very cool.  Gen 1 that comes out in January will be a little stripped down from the demo I saw, but by Summer it should have a lot more goodies in it.  Even at launch, very cool.  Trying to get the name cleared right now for trademark purposes so I can't tell you what it's called just yet.  As soon as it is cleared, I'll pass it on.  It will be a free app.

Reinko, you can get the remote DVR access with the Directv iPhone app.  It has its limits but if you need to set something to record remotely it gets the job done.

You will be able to control all the tvs in your house with it.  Create custom schedules, change channels, schedule recordings, additional sports support, etc, etc.

I should quantify that to control all the tvs, they have to be on a SWiM network and the receivers that can be controlled must be those that can be networked...H and HR type receivers.

Wow...my boss held the door open for me once.

I'm very fortunate to work with and for very generous people.

I thought about not putting that in the initial post, but I thought if I said "I just got a new iPad" I'd get a bunch of people telling me that I'm wasting my money.  I figured I'd rather be called lucky than stupid.

So a Model #: HR22-100 will work?
