Title: OT - Places to watch downtown
Post by: Josey Wales on December 10, 2010, 01:12:00 PM
I'll be going downtown with a group of friends saturday to catch the game. What are some of the best sportsbars/restaurants/etc? I'd like a place with a good sized MU crowd and at least a decent tap list.

I was thinking of checking out Stubby's Pub and Grub, its a new sports bar with over 50 beers on tap, sounds pretty cool.

Edit: I'm talking about Milwaukee, sorry.

Replay on North Ave (used to be twisted fork)
Good atmosphere for games, lots of TVs. 100 oz beer tubes and decent burgers and aps. View isnt so bad either

Patrons tend to be young, douchey hipsters but, that aside, the bar/restaurant itself is a good place to watch a game.

Just a quick heads up. If you're going to watch the game at the Schoolyard, get there early.  It's an MU destination for big games and hits capacity early.  Don't want to be left out in the cold (literally and figuratively).

"Decent" is being nice. Not a fan of the food or the service. I do like the place for everything else.

Stubby's food is good and they have a lot of beer to chose from; however, i would not call it a sports bar- not many tvs.

Red Rocks Saloon has a good amount of TVs and great food.
