Had a brief interaction with an Israeli-based hoophead. I inquired about Niv and here's what he had to say:
"His dad is one of more important basketball players in the (short) history of Israel. Truly one of the greatest players to play here in his time.
Niv plays for Hapoel Holon in the second league in Israel.
He's playing 17.2 MPG, scoring 8.2 PPG with 52% for 2 and 63% for three.
He's collecting 1.9 Boards per game, passing 2.3 APG and has 1.3 TO per game.
You can be sure to say he's not much of a player - the second league here is very weak, but at least his team is in the first position heading back to the first league... "
I have an outdated college basketball game for XBOX, (first year is 2003-2004), and theres some players on there for Marquette that I am confused about... when I first got the game, I put in the roster names.... 1st is where is (and who is) Brandon Bell, freshman that year (class with Dameon Mason), where did he transfer to/what happened to him?
Brandon Bell
He's at U. of Detroit, playing just OK.

Was Brandon Bell's name used on the roster, or did you add him in? I thought college players names cannot be used in game releases as they are amateurs.

Brandon Bell is the younger brother of former Michigan St. guard Charlie Bell. He was brought in as a backup to Diener. I believe Crean was close with the family dating to his days in East Lansing.
In any event, Bell was somewhat overmatched as a freshman. I do recall him having a solid game in the NIT. There were rumors that he violated some kind of team rule and was asked to leave. Had he stayed, I'm not sure he was going to work out as a PG. But him leaving left us completely bare at the point the next year, which is when Diener got hurt. We were so thin at guard that Marcus Jackson was bringing the ball up in some games.

I put in all the names for Marquette... no other team, there not worth it.

and let me tell you, Im only in my second season, however I recruited two seven+ footers, and makes it quite easy to score... now here comes the rest of the board to come and say "put Mayor as coach, he can get virtual 7 footers!!!!"

There were rumors that he violated some team rule and was asked to leave.
I had always heard drugs, which was why he took a "medical leave of absence," but take that for what it's worth, as a campus rumor.
I saw Brandon play at UIC this year, and his game's come along ways. He certainly could have competed at the high major level and would have been a competent back-up point guard. He didn't do anything spectacular, but he was a good floor leader and a pretty consistent shooter. Too bad that he didn't play by the rules, but it seems like he's grown-up a lot since he left MU.
I don't quite get why Detroit Mercy hasn't been better with Bell and Brandon Cotton at the guard. Cotton was the kid who went to MSU and immediately transferred due to lack of playing time. Cotton was a McDonald's All-American and a consensus Top 10 player in his class.
