Watching the Syracuse/Michigan St. game tonight got me thinking about something..... Does anyone know what the Big East's current record is over the Big Ten so far this year (and yes, I realize that it's early in the season so far)?
Not as bad as it will be by about 3:30 Saturday afternoon :D
3-1 entering tonight.
Syracuse beat Mich
Notre Dame beat Wis
Uconn beat MSU
WV lost to Minn
Syracuse will probably beat MSU
Thanks guys
4-1 after Syracuse routed MSU tonight. It's a little misleading though, as 3 of the Big East wins are over perennial Big 10 bottom feeders Wisconsin and Michigan State :D
I heard that going into last night, the B10 was 3-2 against top 25 teams...the only conference with a winning record. I have no idea if that is the case, and how Syracuse's win changes things.
But did I mis-hear that?
How does Syracuse continue to excel? Yeah Boewhine has been there approximating Joe Paterno longevity, but we need to figure out what else they are doing right and pattern that for ourselves.

Maybe Buzz should get a hot young wife. (no offense to his current wife)
You are insinuating that we are not doing things "right" so I do not buy your premise. I like the upward tragectery of the program right now.

UCONN and ND weren't in the top 25 when they beat MSU and Wisconsin.
No question the Big East has been better to date:
head-to-head,
with Syracuse killing MSU, Big East will have FIVE teams ranked higher than the Big 10s 2nd best team
Lville and WVU just missed top 25 or we would have had EIGHT ranked teams to Big 10s 5
top 40 teams (9 to 4 Big East edge)
top 50 teams (12 to 5 Big East edge)
Not to pile on, but this is also the first time in 5 years the Big 10 has even been better than the Big East in FOOTBALL. Since then,
Sagarin ranked the Big East higher than the Big 10 all four years, and
During that time Big East is 16-6 in Bowl Games and Big 10 is 10-19, and now we add TCU.
Guess that kills the old Big 10 argument that they only lose their bowl games because they are held in the south and west - Big East has to travel too.
This may solve the problem about the new name, how about:
THE BIG THREE!
As good as Ohio State, Michigan State and Wisconsin look, the other 8 are so mediocre to bad that Sagarin still has them as the 4th best football conference - ahead of the Big East for the first time since 2005.
Come on Notre Dame, surprise everybody and join TCU as a full fledged member!
What's interesting is the Big Ten is still ranked ahead of the Big East in the Ken Pom and Sagarins at this point. Still early, though.

Let's see:
1. Move out of the city and to the country.
2. Start a Division I football program.
3. Become a big state university....
Holy Sh*t, you're saying we should become Buckys!!!!!!

Syracuse is still private, right?
