Rated 11th in the BE by Hoopniks
11.Marquette Golden Eagles
Marquette was mentioned prominently as a finalist for several Top 100 national recruits this fall. Though the program is clearly a national player in the recruiting scene, Marquette locked up two players, missing on the others. Though some of the other names may have been tantalizing, the two signees are should have fans excited for the future in Milwaukee.
6′-6″ wing forward Juan Anderson brings bounce and length to Milwaukee. He's a native of Northern California and received rave reviews from his play with the Oakland Rebels over the summer. Thick guard Derrick Wilson packs 215 pounds onto his 6′-0″ frame. He's at Hotchkiss School (CT), after beginning his high school career in Alaska. Both players are physically equipped to do well in the rough and tumble Big East.

Maybe a bit of a disappointing ranking, but it's a testament to how well the entire conference is recruiting. I still think Anderson is underrated by most services, and hopefully a late signing like God's Gift can make this a successful class despite the underwhelming ranking.
Even if we sign another player, we probably will not move up in the rankings.

Which is why there was so much angst this Autumn after MU missed on their top five targets for 2011.

Lots of angst but also ... lots of young talent on the roster already. The BE is an absolute beast.
11th in BEast is not keeping up with the Joneses.
Oh I forgot, we will have 7 top 100 recruits on the roster next year, so we are in fat city.
