Does anyone know why we keep getting these 8 PM starts for these weekday buy games. I can't imagine it would be due to TV. In prior years these early season games were nearly always at 7 PM.
-
Past your bedtime, too? Bummer.
I actually like it - gives me some time to get out of the office and 'prepared' to watch the game. Although I'd be upset if I was attending in person.
-
It is my understanding that the start times are actually because of TV. With games being broadcast on ESPN3 and/or ESPN Full Court, the start times are 6pm or 8pm.
Having said that, I got that info from a co-worker, not a reputable news sourse, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
-
It's because of TV, so it can be game 2 of the Big East Network doubleheader.
-
Wow, so our game against "A&M who knows where" is part of a Big East package. Who the heck outside of MU fans would even watch this.
And yes by the time this game ends and I get out to the deep suburbs it is past my weekday bedtime :-[

I really don't like the 8pm non-league games, my bedtime is about 10:30pm. 8-)

Whats interesting is the scoreboard at the BC showed a 7:00 tipoff for TAMU-CC. Also, listening to Homer on the way home, he noted a 7:00 tip with 6:30 pre-game. I had 2 ushers ask me about the time on Saturday. Who's on 1st.... :D It is an 8:00 start and I too would rather have 7:00 for a weeknight game.
-
I would much prefer a 7pm start. I like to take my kids to the game but an 8pm start during the week makes that very difficult.
-
I love the 8:00 PM starts! I can make it to the game without having to leave work early!

It got changed to an 8pm start in late September.

Count me in, hating the 8pm starts. One reason I am giving my tickets away.

You could always pull up a feed on your wicked sweet iPad.

Actually, it was listed orginally as TBA on the tickets and the website. Website updated to 8:00. Not really a change.

Nope, but it is past my son's bedtime on a school night. So now none of us will be going.

Actually you can probably make it to the game quicker than your commute home from work. Aina ZFFB?
-
I like it. Time to go home to eat, spend a little time with the family and head back downtown. Still time for a beer after the game and be home in bed by 11:30.

And you call yourself a fan?.....Puhleeeze......

I certainly prefer the 7pm start as I drive up from Chicago for the games (have season tix) - so a 8pm start doesn't get me back home until a little after midnight

Are you sure you went to Marquette? Aren't you supposed to be looking for excuses to leave work early!?!

same here...

I usually make it back to Chicago by midnight on the 8:00 starts. Plus it gives you some time to get a proper dinner beforehand, instead of rushing.

it means that when even I have to leave work late I *should* get there in time!
but seriously, i would rather have a 7pm start, then *maybe* i would leave work ON time!!
i better get my Zs tonight, 's all i'll say

I would totally pick up rugbydrummer on my way to the BC if I was in Milwaukee

At one point it was on MU's site as a 7pm start.

Wow, some of you people are serious whiners. To be honest, 9 pm Eastern time is a little late for me too, but I never make it home in time for the start of the 7 pm games so I'm not complaining.
Keep in mind that Marquette has more non-conference games televised in DC than Georgetown and more non-conference games televised in New York than Rutgers, St. John's and Seton Hall COMBINED. If some people have to put on a pot of coffee to make it to 10:15 so we can get that kind of exposure I'm okay with it.
