We have been complaining about our post play around here for years, and Chris Otule leads them in scoring with a career high 19, and you give it to a walk-on with three points?
Cmon...
To top it off, he was 9-9 from the field, cmon now
Yeah, replace with Otule asap please
And he only played 19 minutes.
THE PEOPLE WANT OTULE
I hate to say it but I am voting for the walk on. Yea Rob!
All right, fine give it to Otule...
+1
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the dedication and work that Frozena puts in, but it is frankly pretty dumb to give a SOTG award, and have it actually mean something, if you aren't going to give it to...well...the stud of the game.

A couple of points in garbage time--although that could describe most of this game--doesn't = SOTG. Otule deserves it...finally.
I think we should all review the infamous Peggy McIntosh take on white privilege in this moment of absurdity.
And to be quite frank, everyone knows Otule owns Longwood, not Frozena.

Otule...though based on his stats, if Frozena had played 30 minutes, he'd have scored 45 points and pulled down 15 boards!
Let's take this a bit more seriously folks.
Really. Let's.

This is one of those times where I wish you would have used teal, because I have no idea if you're being sarcastic. And which party should be taking this more seriously?
The take away I'm getting is you think it's absurd we are all rooting for Otule for SoG and that we are making too big a deal out of Frozena winning the award.
Otule hands down
down with the white man...
wait wrong thread.
I apprecate every thing Frozena has done for the team over four years. However, I cannot wait for him to graduate. I am sick of the student section roaring everytime he touches the ball.
I am completely confused by this. Why would you even do this award every game if you are going to make a joke of it for one of the games. I looked over the stats and Otule was clearly the stud of the game.
Ease off, guys. Just a bit of levity.
Otule's draft stock isn't going to be harmed by this, you know.
Big man's game.

Think they'll go apeshit next year whenever Singleton touches the ball...?

But will it affect recruiting?!?!?!

As a student, I am ashamed of the rest of the student's section's love for Rob Frozena and general apathy towards the rest of the game. We are dead the entire game; making no noise but when he comes in its like we won the National Championship. Vander had some nice finishes, Reggie had a 3 and Fulce's dunks got no reaction from 90% of the student section.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Singleton supposed to have some level of actual impact on this team once he's eligible? I doubt he will play as few minutes as Frozena.
Really stupid to name Frozena

Amen to that. The fact that he is now co-stud of the game is obnoxious. He hit one shot, got owned on his other attempt and shot 50% from the line... however, I appreciate his work ethic in practice and what he does for the team. Student section is weak, we better show up for the Badgers game

I was going to say the same thing...but I just apparently take these things too seriously.

I hate to harp on this but yeah, the student section needs some work. Today's game would have been a good time to think / try some new innovative ideas.
Frozenas picture up there is a disgrace to this board.
I was so proud of Otule today. Congrats on being THE Stud of the game Chris!
I mean Co-Studs of the game? come on
i believe the student section thinks every time rob takes the floor, they see themselves out there. like rob is just an every student dude minimizing the actual talent and perseverance he has. rob gets abused in practise and keeps on showing up because he loves the game. he is not a scrub like in high school. this guy mixes a full schedule of classes and div. 1 big east hoops. he should be applauded for the right reasons as all these players should. hopefully that's just the alcohol's mock cheer for him, but the people in the know, know. so longwood didn't get the scout report on rob or otule
Is anyone else having a good laugh reading this thread?
The 'frozena SOTG' award was granted with the same rashness as that of the student section celebration when Rob touches the ball when MU is up 30
edit: by the way, moredjsplz, that link you posted is so loaded and out of date in 2010. Was this written in 1950? Give me a break

The thread is comical, but it has some good points. Which makes it the perfect thread.
Otule deserves SOTG and its really nice to see him play the way he did today. Very impressed.
Frozena was on pace to score 60 pts!
SOTG!
Congrats!

Student section is weak, we better show up for the Badgers game
Last two Badger games at the Bradley Center the student section...and entire crowd...was absolutely outstanding and nearly all gold. It has been a long time since I was a student but when the Badgers took the court and the already full student section started chanted "F@ck the Badgers!", I almost started to weep. It seems a long way from the days when half or more the arena was annoyingly red.
I think, for that day only, to do my part, I will bring out my last case of red, white and blue from the 80s and just drink the white and blue part...then throw the bottles on my hardwood floors to piss off my wife.
I cannot wait until Rob graduates and the fans have to find something legitimate to cheer for. It's true that Rob works hard and that shouldn't be taken away from him. I have nothing against supporting a player, but the Rob Frozena thing has grown too large. Our crowd was as loud as a box of kittens the entire game in which Marquette played well excluding the Rob cheers. There are 12 other guys that work just as hard as Rob and they get very little support. Don't give all the credit to one guy and justify it by saying "He has worked hard for four years." All these athletes pour their entire being into becoming better players.
I'm not disagreeing with most of you, but did you watch the bench erupt when he scored? Buzz was also very animated and clapping louder than he had clapped all game. It's not right per se, but it is thrilling for everyone involved. Until the players start resenting the cheering, I don't see any harm.
This picture is from two years ago but it proves what I'm trying to say.

Darn Liam McMorrow and his HOCM/cardiomegaly (or whatever it was) ... miss that kid!
As a newer-ish alum... this is definitely worse than the Tommy Brice days (though I feel FroYo seems to be a bit more of a presence). My vote is to start chanting "Reggie Smith"
All I can say is that senior day/night is going to be gloriously bittersweet!!
Yeah, students, better get your act together for Saturday! pretend Tuesday is dress-rehearsal, i want to see total mayhem!

Yeah, the whole thing of making Frozena SOG is a joke!
The guy went to my HS, so I have to admit that I am biased in favor of any recognition he gets.

No, becasue Singleton actually has talent and will play more than just 50 seconds in a blowout.
Player of the game no way. However, his basket he scored was on a very good move. It was impressive.
