Question:
Who is the best guard in the country... right now?
Option 1: Kemba Walker- UConn
Option 2: Kyrie Irving- Duke
Option 3: Jacob Pullen- Kansas St
Option 4: Other?
Maybe SuperBar question, but curious to see what the Scoopers thought.
Doesnt matter...its not a guards game...
Voted other...Demetri McCamey is averaging 16 pts, 8 ast, 3.5 rbs and is leading Illinois to victories right and left....stud.
but i guess it counted my other as a vote for pullen...bogus
might have been becuase i was editing it??

I had the chance to sit at a table next to singleton and wilson during the Gonzaga game, and the Uconn game was also up on another TV. Apparently Singleton used to play with kemba, and he seemed to think kemba was the best in ncaa right now, and he was cheering him on the whole game.
BTW it was pretty interesting some of their comments and body language towards certain players in the MU game.
walker without a doubt. basically led the UCONN to the Maui championship single-handedly. That being said, UCONN will lose their share of games, because I believe UCONN will go only as Walker goes. If he has an off night, not sure they have anyone to step up and replace his production.

Such as...? you can't just leave us with that comment without elaborating
I voted for Irving. He is the ultimate point guard. Walker will not continue to score 30 points a game.

They seemed to think buycks was all-world or something, constantly yelling for him to shoot it or drive when he had the ball. The were completely silent whenever Blue would shoot. They were getting really pissed at the lack of rebounding in the second half (as were all fans).
More than once they had an exchange to the effect of, "why is djo taking those crazy shots" (on a lay-in), "man, you know he's always making that crazy sh** in practice!" I thought was pretty funny.
What!!!!
No Scott C.??

sorry. should we just pretend Mbakwe is a guard too and add him?
gasser?
maymon?!?
DJO, in spite of his start. He is now rounding into form.
i voted for Kemba because of the right now. I think that by the end of the year though, my vote would be Irving.
Newbill?
Voted for Walker ("right now") - I wasn't that impressed with him prior to this year as he seemed to be getting by on athleticism alone, wasn't shooting well and turned the ball over too much. So far this year he's leading the league in points per game, and doing so while leading his team to wins over good teams. He's shooting well and has cut his tunover percentage in half.
I don't think he'll keep playing at this level all year, but it's been an extremely impressive start.
Walker right now, however I believe it'll be close between him and Irving in the end. I wouldnt have even thought Irving would be in the mix before watching him last night.
If Vander could get some tips on O from the man he started over on USA, well.. that could help.
he didn't start over irving...he started with irving. that team ran a 3 guard look and vander played the lockdown defender role.
Jimmer Fredette of BYU...best pure scorer in the country, maybe the best player in the country period.

Great player. Traditional player.
/obligatory
Gritty player. Heady player. An extension of the coach on the court, if you will.

Love him, but right now no doubt its Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker
Jimmer Fredette
Nolan Smith
Jimmer is a stud. Walker carries UConn and that was evident by the game against New Hampshire. They wont be top 10 for long because simply there not that good aside from Kemba. No clue why after a 30 pt game Irving gets all the pub, yes hes a stud and 1 and done but right now Nolan Smith is the well rounded guard on that team that does everything to win.
Irving.
Side note: Why do I keep getting Kyle Singler crammed down my throat? Am I the only one that thinks he is vastly overrated? I don't get it.
