This was just sent to all MU business students by the Dean of the Business School. It really cannot get any worse, can it? I know they get a lot of hate on this site, and some people actually like them but c'mon, when the dean of the business school is sending us this video this is getting ridiculous.

the spanish odonnels have jumped the shark. and the shark is gay.
this is getting ridiculous. not only are they god awful but for some reason marquette feels obliged to get behind these morons. it needs to stop, my only hope is that they get booed when they perform at the bc this year

+1...I was fine with them when they were a spontaneous student group. This sh*t is awful.
Chill out people I think it is great having students enjoying themselves and not some stuffy old proper presentation.

I agree. The Spanish ODs could be Homer Simpson when he says....Three simple words...I am gay.
These 'guys' would be a good fit for an advertisement of Le Cage, but nothing MU-related.
spanush odenels, if suckiness were a puzzle, I'd do them on my kitchen floor on a rainy day. Probably with my niece and nephew.

very very gay
That wasnt any where as bad as the song they came up with for Fr. Wilde's thing.
I was expecting to hate the song the moment that I heard it, but i didnt. I like that the sampled the beat from the Beastie Boys and the lyrics were not nearly as terrible as some of their other stuff (again see Fr. Wilde's song). They did a good enough job given the topic.
Its just weird that they are being chosen by the administration to be the 'it guys' for advertising things to alumni and students. It is clear from this board that we are haters to them, but what is the feeling on campus? Do the students hate them as much as us posters/alumni?
Spanish O'Donnell's stock in my eyes: +.02 percentage points.
They do the same crap in every video, it all looks the same.
These guys will be corporate dbags. Play the Marquette game (get MU sposorship for videos) = Success in large corporate dbaggery (play corporate politics, don't really do anything).

Spoke to a few students last weekend... and yes they think they are douchey as hell
Their best effort to date.
I realize exactly what I'm saying.

Being gay?
/not that there's anything wrong with that
//doesn't apply to the Spanish OD's
Hit the "dislike" button on the Youtube video .. maybe they'll get the message.
Students having fun = "underground" group that posts Youtube videos with basketball players
Bad representatives of MU = bad music group that is promoted by University administration
MU took it one step too far. Instead of just letting them stay viral and being happy with the "underground" nature of the promotion of the University, they wrapped their arms around it and it comes off making MU look bad.

Agreed. It's one thing for me to go on youtube and search them and watch them there. It is another thing when a dean in the business school is sending me e-mails using them to promote an event.
I haven't really found another student that thinks their stuff is cool. Good for them for being able to hang out with the basketball team and working with the university. I can't really blame them, but I don't feel they should be a focal part of the marketing strategy for the university. I know it is brought up earlier that they might perform at a basketball game or something. Maybe we could turn our backs in the student section like when they introduce the opposing team.

I've long been in the "Who cares?" camp when it comes to these guys, but I have to admit that the students turning their backs would be hilarious.
What if there was a thread about the Spanish O'Donnels and Tom Crean??
a. The world would blow up
b. Chuck Norris would be the only person with enough balls to post.
c. Both

Does anyone else see the striking resemblance to Rex Grossman? Take note of the similarities between the O'Dbags & Grossman. think about it...

I think that when they are done "performing" it would be much better for it to be silent- no applause. Boo's would project that we hate those guys. You cant hate the guys individually for trying to be creative and Marquette trying make them as popular as the Gold could have been in their eyes. Silence says, "we get it and dont want it."

Probably the best thing KSK has ever written was about Grossman.

As a Business Ad alum... and general MU alum... I am embarrassed. Please hide this to never be seen again asap!!
I blame Terrian. I really wish that guy would leave.

I thought they got a new Dean a couple years ago. Are you sure Joe T is still there?

Joe T was never the Dean, interim maybe, but not the Dean. His title was/is, what, Associate Dean or something like that.
I think he is dean of undergrads. His official title is Associate Dean of something. Yes he is still here.
Assistant Dean of Undergrad. Ironic that he is wearing a shirt w/ long sleeves in this picture as I do not remember him EVER wearing anything other than a short sleeve shirt. Among other things, yikes.

Agreed, before Joe T really escalates the "how can we ruin the business school's credibility" arms race.
