During some timeouts during the Marquette-UWM game, a promo aired in which student-athletes from Horizon League universities talked about how 729 athletes made the league's academic honor roll last year by earning grade-point averages of 3.2 or better in the spring semester.
The promo ended with one of the students saying, "The Horizon League: Where students go to be athletes ... and not the other way around."
I have run that line through my head several times -- "Where students go to be athletes ... and not the other way around." -- and it sounds odd.
Do you think that is what the Horizon League really meant?
