Doesn't look good for the entire BET.  Crean talks about it at the end of this article:

At this point, if we can get 1 win (SJU) in the BET, the rest is gravy.  Sure it'd be nice to win 2-3 in the BET, but I'm not greedy.  Save McNeal for the NCAAs.

Yes, lets not rush McNeal.  If we can get him ready for the NCAA's, let the BET go where it might.  Good experience for the others.  don't want to hurt jerel's chances at playing in the NCAA's or the future health of his hand/thumb.  St. John's big Lamont Hamilton reportedly is undergoing an MRI on his knee today and may not be able to play.  Now, that would be a huge loss for SJU.

MU will undoubedly engage in a bit of gamesmanship with this one and I'm sure will be choosing their words rather carefully for the next 7 days or so. For seeding purposes, they are going to have to do their best to at least create the impression that he will be available for the NCAA tournamnet. If it become apparent that he will not be, it will give the committee an opportunity to ding us where our seed is concerned. If we are borderline between two numbers, no McNeal will almost certainly push us down to the lower seed. They seed the team that is going into the tournament, not necessarily the team that played the entire season.
