Not only did he start the run to get Marquette back into the game, but his 7 to 1 assist to turnover ratio and 5 points with a better shooting percentage in 22 minutes out preformed buycks.
I would be disappointed if Cadougan didn't start at pg tonight vs gonzaga. I understand defense is critical, and his defense last night wasn't terrible, but controlling the floor on the offensive is just as important.
The 1/4 court no look pass he had to a wide open Crowder under the basket was a thing of beauty.
he looked great, i like the line up of jr, buycks, butler, crowder and ox.
i sort of remember our best play happening w/ that lineup on the court. although DJO was a stud the first 7 minutes of the 2nd half.

Mrs. Sugar: "Wow. Nobody saw Crowder down there"
Henry: "Cadougan did"
Yup. But he still dribbles high.

I would care if someone stole the ball from him more often.

I've noticed that he dribbles high in open court to allow him to run the court faster, but with guys around him no one is getting that ball away.
actually earned the right to start against Bucknell, as did Gardner.
our best lineup offensively is cadougan, djo, butler, crowder and gardner. our best lineup defensively is blue, buycks, crowder, butler and otule. only 2 players are on both lists, so buzz is forced to switch things up often. just my opinion.

This is spot on. Everyone likes to concentrate on offense but the reality is that there are multiple positions in which one player is better offensively while the other player is better defensively. I might even put Fulce ahead of Crowder in terms of defense (pretty close there).

Couldn't agree more. He looked comfortable and in control the entire time he was on the floor. Should have had at least 2-3 more assists, if not for missed shots by DJO and company.

i wouldn't argue that. although I was basing it only on healthy, available players.
I was SO happy to see JC play the way he did. It means MU has a point guard for the next three years. To start the season I wasn't sure if JC was just bad, or in Buzz's dog house, but as more games went on it was obvious he could facilitate. I just didn't expect to see it done at the level he did last night. When he creates for his teamates by penetrating, his kick out is always one dribble before guys like DJO and DB, which means he doesn't get stuck in bad positions and doesn't pick up charges. I was really impressed with his play.
offensively, he was great. but he was routinely beat off the dribble on defense, either giving up layups, or when help came, open looks to the opposition on kick-outs. Unless he can somehow improve his on the ball defense on the fly, I really think he is limited to 20 mpg. Granted, duke's guards are very quick, so I may be jumping the gun here a little, but from what we saw last night, he could not keep his man in front of him.
After watching the Zags game, JC is a far better PG than Buycks. DB really did not play a good game tonight and made a lot of bad mistakes. JC needs to be the starter.
Knight praise Junior for his ability to distribute the ball.
Buzz has huge man crush on Bucyks and my guess is that he will continue to start the guy.

I wish that the 35 footer that Buycks took with 3 seconds left in the first half against Gonzaga ends that.
