Title: UW-Milwaukee 1-2 after this weekend
Post by: ChicosBailBonds on November 14, 2010, 07:46:28 PM
They lost to Florida Atlantic and Portland on Friday and Saturday, but salvaged a win today to avoid finishing dead last in the tournament.  Today they beat UC Davis.

How long is it until Jeter is let go?  No reason they should be losing to these teams.

Given that they don't even have an athletic director and the department is still reeling from the Koonce hiring, it's going to be awhile.

In fairness, Portland was in postseason last season and was ranked in the top 25 a one point. That being said, it was a bad weekend for the Panthers. In the lost to FAU, 15-34 from the foul-line.

Interesting how some posts were deleted in this thread but posts in another thread that were extremely offensive weren't.  Interesting

I think Jeter has alot of money left on his contract, and that Athletic Department doesnt have the finances to fire him and pay another coach.

Portland is a good team.

Look...

--UWM just started their Chancellor search last month.
--They have an interim athletic director
--They have no money

No way in h*ll Jeter loses his job after this year.  Who's going to fire him?  The interim athletic director reporting to the interim chancellor?

He gets at least one more year after this one.  But if I were him, I would be nervous after that year.

What's up with Koonce? Was it incompetence, ethics, or moral turpitude? I thought he was a pretty stand up guy at Marquette.

A simple google search should give you all you need on his dismissal, no need to rehash it here

Portland lost 4 starters from that team; though the Pilot's still have some talent.
