I didn't see a single Marquette student with a beer in their hand! Whenever the TV showed a scan of the MU student section, no MU student was ever shown holding a beer. From someone who was there as a MU student when they switched from the Mecca to the Bradley Center, I find tonight's situation just shameful. Come on guys and gals, you have the opportunity to watch your college team play on a non-campus arena that sells beer. Take advantage students, especially on a Friday night!

I'll cut you a deal. You give me $7 a game and I'll make sure I have a beer in my hand every game.

Probably 3/4 of students are under 21.
Definitely 4/4 of students are broke.
Pretty sure those numbers have been accurate for the history of the Marquette student section, buck up.
That being said, great turnout for an early season game by the students, that is great to see.
We always used to buy one bottomless Miller Lite. Buy one beer, refill it with the 30 pack of busch lite you and your roommates snuck in your coats. The wisconsin winter was good for one thing, oversize coats that (if you are creative) allow you to sneak in at least 5 beers.

Miller Lite? Husch Light? I thought you wanted beer, not bottled water.

Amen brother! I feel like I wrote that post.

normie-you party animal you. everyone knows how important it is to show people at home what they're missing...the beers and the parties man. let's show them all we can drink at our games-excellant recruiting tool. maybe they'll let us do a keggar with beer bongs and wow yeah that was in my top two of disappointments too. tough call between that and the 5 pound log clogging up the mens room toilet :-[ on level 400
While they may be more sober, there have been great student turnouts and energy the first two games....the alumni on the other hand were doing their sweater vest best. I think I woke up an entire section when I jumped up and screamed when VB blocked a shot and turned it up court in one motion. Sick defense.
Whatever happened to smuggling beers in? That was a prominent practice during my time at the turn of the century.
I saw many students with a beer in there hands. Lot's of stupid drunk chicks.
If the camera's ever showed the upper bowl there'd be a totally different picture of the MU student section. The kids in the lower bowl get there wicked early and never really have drinking on their minds.

Lower bowl students care about the game. Upper bowl students go just to go and drink.
It's great that they all there, don't get wrong.

get ripped before going to the game. one or two at half time to maintain.
that used to be our plan.
If the jumboTron would have showed me(in the lower deck) you would have seen a student with a beer. No I am not 21, no i am not broke, and yes i bought all my friends in my row beers as well. This is of course after a 4 hour pre-game session that started right after class. dont be so quick to judge now.

"... i bought all my friends in my row beers as well." Wait a minute. Are you going to the next game? What row are you sitting in? I'm an MU alum, do you want to be friends?

This.
We used to drink until we stumbled in about 10 minutes left in the first half. And ALWAYS snuck in a flask to mix with soda.
I think I made the lower bowl twice in my four year career at MU.
I'd rather pre-game with beer I can buy at a convenience store at the going rate of 5 bucks for a 6-pack than 7 bucks for one beer at the games.
I don't care if it's the only arena in college sports that let's that happen.

You are the MAN! I will never reach your level.
I took a lap around the upper deck just for funsies, popped into the bathroom and found that some students aren't ready for prime time. so worrying about buying a $7 beer during the game isn't the biggest problem.

Yeah. Those backscatter machines and genital-focused searches at the Bradley Center make it seem like I'm trying to catch a flight.
My favorite two favorite moves, were hiding High Life cans in the hood of winter coat, second was my roommates and each bringing in a 20 oz. Of a different booze, and we would set up a bar and either get bomb drunk, or sell shots to freshman.
With all due respect to those with kidney/urinary issues, I'm sure one of those kids could get beer in one of these:

The Beer Belly (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001RB2CXY?tag=autocgi-20) for guys and the Wine Rack (http://www.drinkingstuff.com/drinkingstuff_flasks_ds1394.htm) for ladies should be in every college kid's welcome basket :)

My disappointing moment from last night's game: Where the heck are the good looking women behind Buzz?
I don't like watching rolls...

Saw a bunch in the student section(s). Apparently a gold t, tights and ugg boots is the standard get up for girls at MU games... Keep up the good work

Yeah we still need to work on this area if we're recruiting in California, Texas and Mississippi. This could be Buzz's next initiative.

Seems like it's standard issue outside of the BC, too.
