I liked what I saw from the newcomers, and I know it early but there is absolutely no reason Buzz shouldn't have at least a "9 and half" man rotation.
Crowder: Under Control, physical, and will be very consistent night to night
Reggie: Like his speed and defensively, great on the ball pressure, hitting 2 3's nice surprise
Vander: Seem to be buying in to the fact that he will get his minutes thru defense and will score in transition or driving
Jamail: Liked his aggressiveness, offensively will be a option when in the ball game, good length
Davante: good court awareness, will continue to learn how to use his body very effectively. Like RJax maybe in a few years?
Otule and JC looked ok as well. Junior is definitely a true point as Buzz says, and he will grow into more minutes.

Really, really excited about all our new guys. Did Jamail look like he could be in the rotation ahead of Williams at this point? They basically play the same type of position...
Good to hear about Gardner. I really do think he is a diamond in the rough in this class.

Definitely. Williams still seems completely lost on offense. Jones had a few nice drives to the basket. Defensively, both are still liabilities so I think Jones gets the nod at this very early point.

I don't see those two guarding the same position at all.
Barring injuries that will cause them to play more I see Jones, Williams, and Gardner as more of the .5 to the 9.5 man rotation at this point, simply because of the experience and the stronger defense ahead of them. If there's a matchup that warrants them playing more or someone's in foul trouble they'll get some minutes and could decide some games. Their development will be essential in the next year or two when they're in the top 7 of the rotation (significant minutes every game) instead of sharing 9.5 duties.

Agree. Few minutes except for foul trouble when we get to BE season. One doesn't sit rested guys ahead of them unless foul trouble, etc. Gardner might be used to eat up some fouls. That said, I like what I see in the 2 freshman.
Gardner has good potential for the future. Keeping in mind that Burke was an adaquate 5 by the middle of his Junior year, Gardner is bigger and much further along as a freshman than Burke was. I could see that towards the end of NEXT year MU could have 2 respectable 5s, something we haven't had in years. It would give us a completely new option in our offense, the ability to throw it down low and force the defense to collapse. Then we can always go back to "small ball" but we aren't forced to.
I'm not as sure about Williams. He seems to have the talent and he already has a good offensive game. It just seems like he is not in sync with the other 4 guys who are on the court.
