Do any of the recruiting gurus out there have any current information on Jarion Henry?
He is 6'8" from Dallas and is listed at 84 on Rivals. It says we offered him and it shows no committment to any school. Anybody know his status--are we still after him?
I would say BMA would be the best person to lend advice...but MarkCharles would probably think I'm being sarcastic or something...
Pretty sure he was at Madness. Don't know any more than that though.

Agreed. And you certainly don't want to get talked down to or told you're wrong by soliciting BMA's opinion.

His visit was cancelled at the last minute. Don't know why or who initiated it.
Looks as though we are out of the mix with Henry.

"Jarion Henry, a relatively unknown prospect, has indicated that New Mexico and Georgetown are his top two choices and plans to make a decision quickly after the regular signing period begins on April 13th."
That is incorrect that we are out of the mix. Georgetown and New Mexico are the leaders at this point but MU hasn't been ruled out yet...
Georgetown, New Mexico, Oregon, Marquette, and USC comprise Henry's college list at this point. "That's like the ones I'm interested in," he said.
Other schools have made an attempt to get involved with the Lone Star State standout, but he has opted to just go with that group of five.
"Texas Tech called the other day, since they got the new coach," Henry said. "There were a lot more, [but I] told my coach, 'No.' [Schools like] Baylor, UT [Texas]."
Henry, who said "probably April" when asked when he plans to commit, has a pair of schools that are standing out to him the most.
"Right now it's Georgetown and New Mexico," Henry said of his leaders. While he has not taken any college visits yet, that may well be changing soon.
"No, next week I'm gonna be setting up some visits," Henry said. "Probably Georgetown and New Mexico."

How the hell does Georgetown reach down to Tx? I thought Buzz has the huge Tx. connections. New mexico I can see. Buzz was in on this guy for about a year. Did we lose interest?

So Buzz has to get every single recruit from Texas? Georgetown can't recruit a guy from Texas? Got it.

Does that just mean he wants to get out of Texas? I wouldn't blame him ;) But it seems odd.
He apparently just moved to Texas a couple years ago. He's originally from the LA area.

How many schollies does Gtown have?
They're also in the mix for Otto Porter!

Actually, they are fully signed for next year. They would have to make room somehow.

Sounds like Henry doesn't seem satisfied with MU. Playing it to cool, hope he gets burned. Why can't we make a dent with Porter. Read in Missouri Tourney had 29 pts and 35 rbs in a game. Don't know the competion and academics though. Porter is also 6-9, 205 and much better than Henry. C'mon Buzz use your sales pitch. I'd pitch a tent by Porter's room. He's an
interchangeable player. Lay in on the line.
I've seen Henry play recently in the State tournament....and in my view...he's long on potential and athleticism...but fairly raw. He's a 6'8" perimeter guy. Not sure that he is a must have recruit at this time given the complexion of the roster.

I have no doubt that Buzz would do this and much more if he thought it would work.

Why? I hope he is fully satisfied with his college choice. Wish no ill will on any kid.
Porter will head to KU if the Morris twins go pro.....book it.
