I know that Wes doesn't play the point, but the Blazers have so many talented backcourt guys, any more room for him has to be a good thing. Think this opens up more time for him?
That's a nice pick up for New Orleans, and I agree good for Wes. Rudy Fernandez would be a good person to get out of Portland too.
They invested a lot in Wes, so this makes sense.
They waived Jeff Pendergraph and kept Patty Mills, so it looks like they've settled on a future backup PG in Mills which would free up Wes to play the wing.
Wes will have a major role with the Blazers next year. He and Brandon Roy will work very well together.
I could imagine a backcourt of Roy and Wes playing together, with Roy being the pg. He is a terrific passer, and the ball is in his hands on basically every possession anyways.
