Title: EWill
Post by: Canadian Dimes on October 21, 2010, 08:40:49 AM
At Marquette, look out for Erik Williams.

Teammate Robert Frozena: "He will be a sophomore this season and has improved a lot from last year. He has gotten a lot stronger, and his mid-range game has improved immensely. He's very active, and will be crucial to the success of the team by coming into the game and giving us solid minutes while the starters are getting a breather."

Good to hear.  I think we saw a definite flash of E-Wills talent and mid-range game at Madness.  He was isolated 1 on 1 with Gardner (who does have very quick feet, despite his size)..and EWill took a couple dribbles from just outside the 3 point line on the wing, did a real sweet spin move, and then pulled up off of two feet, elevated nicely and stroked about a 13 foot jumper, nothing but net.  It truly was an NBA caliber move...now I'm not saying he's an NBA prospect...but..just saying it showed me a lot.

Good to hear.  If we can get a solid 8-10 mpg from him this year, he may be at the point that he is *at least* filling the Fulce hustle-guy role as a junior and senior.

The upside could be even greater of course...

His contributions would make a major difference, and he is an enormous X-factor.  If Jimmy, Crowder, EWill, and Fulce can all play, we can have two athletic forwards on the floor at all times.

As a ESPN top 100 player, I hope we get much more from E this season. It's kind of like he is the forgotten player. Nobody is talking about him.
