There are rumors that his commitment will come shortly. I really hope he picks MU. He would be the absolute perfect switchable for Buzz. MU would be very hard to guard with him added.
ESPN rumors has mentioned how Hood would be perfect for Pitino's system. That may be true, but he would also be perfect here and would not be part of a 8 million person recruiting class where the coach is still trying to recruit Miller and Bello.
FSU keeps coming in and taking 5-star recruits we are in on (Snaer). I don't know anything about their program besides when we cleaned their clock in Orlando last year for the first half, only to run out of gas and lose due to size and depth. Good conference, though, obviously.
MU makes a ton of sense of Hood. It is hard to say we are frontrunners or anything, but you never know. Hope he sees that he has a good fit here.
Any thoughts?
I'll take Hood and Shaw right now. Wouldn't that be nice...

I agree COMPLETELY!!!
I would love to see Hood in an MU uni, but with the lack of attendance at Madness and Pitino lurking out there I find it hard to believe we will grab him.
Screw pitino--he is a slithering slimeball snake, almost on par with Calimari.
Pitino has already over recruiuted.
but with the lack of attendance at Madness :'( :o >:( ::) ?-(
You do know he was here last weekend right?
I agree that Hood would be a perfect fit for MU's offense, but there really aren't many systems where an intelligent, 6'8 swingman who can shoot, pass, and handle the ball wouldn't fit in.
The thing that doesn't make sense to me is that Hood is so strongly considering FSU. Everything I've heard about him as a person makes me believe the culture of FSU would be a very odd choice for him. I'm not trying to call FSU dirty or anything like that at all, but when you think good education and core values, both of which are very important to Rodney by all accounts, FSU doesn't exactly spring to mind. And I know hes from the south, but its not like FSU is right in his backyard or something.
P.S. thanks for starting a new Hood thread. That other one is absurd. Some of the people involved must have literally spent many many hours on that thread yesterday alone.

That's a good point. However, I guess you should look at it from Hood's perspective. Buzz has been a coach for 2 years and has gotten two swingmen paid in the NBA, with McNeal having an outside chance still. Hood should take those odds. While talent always succeeds, there are systems which are better at showcasing his talents. MU and Louisville do make sense in that respect, but MU is the far better choice ;D

Can you do us all a favor? Everytime Pitino is mentioned here, you give us this same basic drivel. Please stop.
We get it...you don't like Pitino. However, high school recruits do. Insulting him doesn't really do us any good.

Academically, Florida State is a fine university.
Really? I'm not trying to be dismissive, and I admit I don't know a whole lot about the school, but I have always gotten the impression and heard from people from the state that it was average at best. Oh well, not trying to get into another useless University A v. University B debate.
One thing we can all agree on, however, is that FSU has a poor record of keeping their athletes in class until graduation and out of handcuffs.

If we got one of the two I would be giddy, much less both. Give me any of Hood, Shaw, or McDonald and I would be very happy. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a JUCO too, especially based on Buzz's comments in the presser transcript saying how he really likes bringing in JUCO players.

It is considered a step down from the University of Florida, but Florida is a very good school.
"It is considered a step down from the University of Florida, but Florida is a very good school."
That is the perception down here in Florida, Bilsu.......
The latest U.S. News and world report has the University of Florida ranked 53rd nationally, Marquette ranked 75th nationally, and FSU ranked 104th nationally.....All fine schools ........

Tthank you dad! I will continue to state my passions!
Florida State has lead the entire time for hood and I've read nothing to indicate that that has ever changed. They were in from the start. Hamilton may not be the best coach, but he's a hell of a recruiter. FSU will have a lot of talent this year and will be pretty good. There are plenty of reasons to choose a school and it's not crazy for a kid to like a school over any other school. From all indications it'll be Florida St in the end with Louisville in second. But it doesn't really matter who comes in second.
Hood is a great player and he'd be perfect in any system. I wish he would've fully considered Georgetown. Oh well.

So you criticize somebody for not liking Pitino, but look at the violent hate you are expounding. Holier than thou, aren't you?
Having said that I will now not respond to any of your further spew--Sultan-or is it Sultanarcissist?

I never criticized you for not liking Pitino. Reading. Is. Fundamental.
Speaking of Louisville, they signed Tony Woods.

One less spot open there.

No, he is criticizing you for this: "he is a slithering slimeball snake, almost on par with Calimari." And honestly, I kind of agree. It just gets old. Whats the point? You actually think someone on this board likes Pitino, or is even little sympathetic? Its just unnecessarily aggressive.
That said, say what you want.
eh, +1...

I thought I heard that Rodney Hood did not attend.
What happened to the Rodney Hood announcement? Did he decide not to decide???

He did not annouce. Either the original post was wrong or something happen to change his mind. Possible that he was going to annouce for Louisville until they took Woods. ;D

that's premium info. 8-)
Thanks for the update bilsu. Any word when he will decide on MU?
Hopefully at some point Louisville will stop handing out more scholarships than the NCAA allows and Hood will realize he should go somewhere else...somewhere that's not Florida State. The guy was born to step into the JFB role.
According to the Louisville commit list, they have 5--3 SF's, 1 PF and 1 Center. They also have 5 underclassmen listed on their roster that are Forwards.
Why would Hood want to get into that shuffle?

I do not know anything. I was just speculating.
Hmm...Saturday afternoon and still nothing from the Hood camp? Clearly the "he's committing Sunday" was wrong, guess the "he's committing this week" was wrong as well. Makes it seem more likely that he was planning on UL and changed his mind after the Woods commit. Any word on if he has a timetable for his commitment? I'd love to see him verbal to us...seems like it's likely down to us and FSU.

Mississippi State is also squarely in the mix..and don't count out L'ville just yet...
Quite a few MU players recently FB friends with him... just saying.

Um, he's FB friends with a grand total of 2 MU players: DJO and Jimmy. If that constitutes "quite a few", then yes I agree with you.
I love the Louisville fans like recruiting him on facebook. I have seen that multiple times from their fans with different recruits. The kid should not add them, but if he does why does a 40 something year old man do that to an 18 year old? I don't get it he's a player too, but a kid going through an important time in his life. It's ridiculous
