I found it interesting this morning that before the game, when the members of the 1977 team were being introduced, they were not referred to as the Warriors, but the "1977 Marquette National Championship Team."
Say what you want about the pro-Warrior folks and their opinions on the issue, but if Marquette does not refer to this team as the Warriors tonight during the ceremony, it's flat-out pathetic and shows how desperate they are to whitewash any usage of the name Warriors. I think this just is like adding gasoline to the fire; mentioning the team nickname in the context of the championship does not construe tacit support for the Warriors nickname by Marquette. It's just part of the history, and it's sad if they are so fearful of using the Warriors name as part of Marquette's athletic history.
I would like to know who makes decisions like this? If it's that sports marketing company we've got working for us, they should be fired.
However they're introduced, you can bet there will be the biggest "Let's Go Warriors" chant in Bradley Center history!!

well during halftime of the game tonight, Bo Ellis spoke on behalf of the championship team and he made several references to Marquette as the "warriors" and the crowd went crazy after each one. It was a great sight to see.
They also showed the sign during the game, although the footage could have been from the morning.
We held the sign up the whole time after the team was announced at half.
"We will be Warriors forever!" - Bo Ellis.
Got chills up my back.
I think it was Bo Ellis who stated during the 77 team intro something like 'my family of warriors'. I wondered if he was going to be ejected!!!! Shame on you BO!!!!

It would not surprise me if he gets a reprimand from the ultra PC MU administration. Unless there is a double standard in place....which would NEVER, NEVER happen at a place with such high ideals as MU </sarcasm>
