"Jeronne Maymon will lead because he's so tough and brings a bit of an edge," Pearl said. "You come watch practice, and Jeronne will take your head off if you don't fight him back. That's a way of leading."
Maybe something clicked for him, he was a pushover while he was in Milwaukee. Guy looked very passive.
Let's hope he doesn't go on any joyrides with any of his teammates so he can avoid the annual weapons and drug charges that seem to hit that team. Shoot 'em up Maymon.
Forward? He's clearly a shooting guard! Tim Maymon must be raging!
Ah, Maymon will not be starting. Do the name Tobias Harris ring a bell?

I'm sure Jerrone had a lot of anger about how the situation at Marquette went down, with how his Dad basically pulled him out of a Marquette program, that by all accounts HE was happy in. He now can't play with his buddy Vander Blue, etc. I'm sure he's read some of the doubters of his talent and ability - whether here or elsewhere. Roll all of that together, and you may have a very inspired kid - which would be great for JMay.
I have a feeling it is going to turn ugly once Jerrone qualifies to play and he isn't starting due to the quality of guys in front of him...
I really hope that this works out well for JMay! He's a young man trying to come into his own. Hopefully he puts the past behind him and continues to put forth a great effort and everything works out in his favor!
How about we wait a couple years and have a Tennessee v MU game so that Blue and Maymon can battle it out? I think that would be a lot of fun for the both of them.
There is no way Buzz ever would schedule a game against a Tennessee team with Maymon on it.

Because of personal feelings toward the family or because of politics?

Agreed. But, I think Pearl was saying that JM would fit into the "starting" rotation, which means JM would be coming off the bench (as he is likely to for some time). As for Pearl's verbal nuggets...????????

My feeling is that he would never give Maymon the chance to beat MU.

I agree with you but do you think that's how Tim Maymon understood it?
I have some concerns about his off the court adviser(s), but there is no doubt the kid can play at a high level.
Wish it would have worked out for him at MU.
Best of luck at UT.

Agree on that as well. Pearl is trying to pull the wool over Tim's eyes.

Agreed. I always liked Jeronne Maymon. Good luck to him at UT.

He was passive, but he was a freshman. I thought he played a pretty good game his last game for the Warriors (@Madison). My friend the basketball savant, who is also a UW fan, thought that he had a huge upside...fundamentally strong...good footwork...just needed some strength.

The problem with Maymon was not him, it was his camp. Shocking, I know. But I have it from a very good source that the day Buzz kicked team Maymon of the team, he called all his teammates crying, trying to stay. That made me pretty upset with Buzz when I heard it, as it seemed that was pretty cold of him to do, but I know Buzz wouldn't take the decision lightly. I have no doubt that he would have found his niche at MU and would be one of our centerpieces moving forward, if not for his father. The stories I have heard about his dad are ridiculous, especially his behavior at the UW-MU game at the Kohl Center.
Buzz moved forward, and I hope we all can too. I wish him the best. It doesn't seem like we downgraded the talent much by losing him though, as he was replaced by Crowder/Wilson.
that was probably written in to pearls penance for lying to ncaa

Its good to see that Tennessee is working out for Maymon. We have replacements and everyone is better for it. We dont need bad blood
