MUTV Sports is back on the beat

Written by: noreply@blogger.com (Tim Blair)

Welcome back Brad (http://twitter.com/BradGalli), Todd (http://twitter.com/#%21/Todd_Warner) and the talented crew from MUTV Sports (http://twitter.com/#%21/Todd_Warner).  Here's the first installment of Marquette Basketball Weekly for the 2010-2011 season.

Never heard of this series before, but it was pretty good. I really like what Buzz said about how much DJO has grown since the end of last season, and how Blue likes to be coached so much.

I also liked what Buzz said about how its nice his kids have gone to the same school the last 3 years. Buzz, make sure those kids graduate from that school.

Really good work from Brad and company. They set the bar high for this season with this episode!

Meh on the digital-like frame during the intro...it cut off "Al McGuire" and "Marquette Warriors" on the screen shot...

But the quality was really good.

I wonder if they are going to do the "Meet the Player" special like Homer has done.

Gotta move those chairs closer together during the interview.  Even though it's uncomfortably close in real life, those chairs (between Buzz and Brad) would be significantly in a big-network talk show during a network broadcast.

Great episode otherwise.  I love watching out players grow up in the program as much as I've loved watching Brad's talent grow.  That's not just talk either.  Great interview once again... and the editing has *really* kicked it up a notch.  Todd Warner had a much stronger delivery in his segment as well.  Great job!

Coach has lost a ton of weight.  What's he been doing to change his lifestyle in the offseason?

The MUTV sports guys do a fantastic job.  I thought Galli was a senior last year, simply based on the quality work that was done.

However, much like for Buzz, my expectations have been raised.

Great, great, great interview.  The quality and delivery of Brad Galli's questions is already at a VERY high level within the professional broadcasting world.  This kid should hit ESPN before he's 30.  Great work.  Thansk MUTV/Brad/Todd for your best work yet!

Really good work from Brad and company. They set the bar high for this season with this episode!

Thats because it was footage from a game broadcast which they would need permission to use and their may or may not have been a watermark on the clip...
my guess....

My $.02.
Brad - Picking up from where you were last year, great job.
Todd - Much improved delivery.  Seems much more comfortable than last year.  Most Improved Reporter?
Crew - Great job all in all.

I agree with the comment that the graphics seem a little over the top, but still good. And really, it's a lot better than some major network affiliates graphics.
Also agree with the move the chairs closer together comment.  It's not 60 Minutes where you don't know if the dictator you're interviewing is going to leap across and take you hostage.

The players at Al's Run: I keep saying this, but they all seem like a great bunch of kids.  They all know there's a bigger picture, and it comes through their comments.

Brad, again nice presentation and the quality was outstanding.  BTW, do you have any jobs lined up subsequent to your graduation?
