Title: Dick Enberg's "Coach"

Just wondering if anyone else will be attending either of the performances? I live in Indy, so will probably just drive down and back for the 3pm show.  I think it'll be interesting to see if/what MU alums make it.  Any bets on Crean appearing?

I was at a performance of "Coach" on the MU campus a few years ago. Dick Enberg was on hand and after the show answered some questions and shared a few additional anecdotes. Terrific show - my wife and I took a couple with no MU connections (Purdue and Northwestern) and they were blown away.
Crean will be there with bells on and I guarantee an acknowledgement from Enberg after the show. I'm also sure TC will let anyone and everyone know how "close" he and Al became before McGuire's death.

Tommy will be there only if the full blown media is covering the performance and he can use the occasion to sell more snake oil and used cars.

I saw the performance at Belmont Abbey this weekend, fantastic.  Billy Paccker was there to see it for the first time, and Jay Bilas brought his family and was a class act as always.

When Enberg moderated questions at the end, Paccker's voice cracked.  Said they didn't really like Al when he first came, and never had so much as lunch with him until he went to Mass one morning in St. Louis while they were traveling.  He suddenly noticed that one of the homeless folks standing at the outskirts of the church was actually McGuire.

When McGuire ended up asking him to lunch, he took him to a docked boat and told the owners to put out the plank.  He boarded the boat and told them he and Paccker were health inspectors, and the owners cooked them lunch as McGuire examined the cooking arrangement and told them he'd give them a good review.

Million other stories, but suffice it to say the play is even better than it was when I saw it in Atlanta a few years ago.

You may want to reread the original post - don't think anyone "turned" the thread at all.

This show seems to be traveling around quite a bit. Is there any website that has the upcoming schedule?

I read the 2nd and 3rd posts where it most certainly became the same old same old. Please show me how it didn't?

The 2nd post (in part) and the 3rd post answer the question asked at the end of the 1st post. I'll grant that they include some editorial content and an attempt at humor (however weak). Maybe we should have answered with a simple yes or no but the question seemed open to commentary.

Visiting Indy this weekend...just bought tickets to the 3pm show! Can't wait to see it after all the good things I've heard...

This is obviously the correct attire for it, right? http://bit.ly/cD2odC

it is a great show.  And Cotter Smith (the actor playing Al) is a great guy.  If you can, go out and support this show.

Not yet, that we know of, but stay tuned. We tried to get the show to come to Kansas City before the CBE but couldn't quite make it happen. But we're staying in touch with the booking agency, and if they tell us they've got it booked someplace, we'll try to post it here.

Meantime, here's a link to the play promo on the booking agency's website: http://www.obbnyc.com/#coach.

I wish they would record one of these performances including the after show Q&A and put it on DVD. I would by one in a heart beat.

Looks like Coach is coming to Milwaukee right around March Madness time.

http://www.marcuscenter.org/Coach.html

Two showings coming to the Marcus Center on March 28 and 29. How sweet would it be to see that right before Marquette made their first Final Four appearance since 2003? (One can dream) There shouldn't be any overlap with a potential Marquette game as the only games scheduled around there will be the Final Four on March 31 and the National Championship on April 2. Definitely planning on getting to one of these shows.

So there aren't single tickets available?

Not yet that I saw...they'll probably go to singles after they've sold enough packages.

It will also be in Sheboygan on March 30th, for anyone that lives up this way.
