Agreed.
GTST.
That was the best one so far. Lovin these.
totally awesome, I think when they release them as 2 - 30 minute episodes we'll be in for a treat.
Agreed. I think boot camp is the epitome of Buzz's overall philosophy. The more I see of Buzz the more I like the guy.
"Fulce's team's gonna be selling nachos at the volleyball game!" hahaha
Great work, I'm lovin' it. GTST.
One takeaway from the video, I thought, is that there is no true leader on the team yet. Granted, a short video cannot do this justice, but the team seemed to lack an alpha-male out there. The best players are obvious: DJO and Jimmy. But, the Amigos and Lazar have been captains for so long that it is something that needs develpment.
Jimmy needs to be that guy, and the created adversity will help him, but it didn't look like he had a Lazar-type presence quite yet. Our best two players will lead differently as Jimmy seems like a jokester and DJO seems pretty quiet, whereas Lazar or DJames were more natural leaders/fit the mold more.
It looked like Buzz was working Junior a little bit to develop some leadership. Since our PGs will be freshman and sophs, it will be an interesting dynamic since the team leaders will be Jimmy, Fulce, DJO, and Buycks.
I have no doubt that the team will respect Jimmy when he says something, so I am confident Buzz can mold him.

I wonder who was the senior that ran two solos back to back. I kind of had the impression that it was Fulce and got the sense that Fulce might be stepping up to be the leader. But I'm perfectly willing to acknowledge that this might just be because they focused on Fulce more than any other in the one-on-one interviews.

Right, the format of a video makes it tough to say. But Fulce looks like he will be a captain.
On a side note, wasn't Fulce the better player at Tyler, TX when Jimmy and Fulce were together in community college? Meaning, has Fulce usually been the leader when they were together? But now, Jimmy is the All-Big East caliber player and needs to be the team's captain. Could be an awkward reversal of roles.
Jimmy will be the leader by example and mouth. Not Lazar loud but even I'm scared of him when he gets that intense look going.
Fulce seems to be the glue: his pad and his temperament seem to be relaxed and easy going.
That helps considering he and Buzz have known each other for a while.

Fulce definitely seems to possess the perfect demeanor for a leadership role...as for the "senior doing back-to-back solos", I got the impression it was Buycks based on the way Buzz kept telling him he was "in the best shape / the best one out there" (or whatever the exact wording was) while he was running...
We may not always be the favorite on paper, but Buzz's teams are consistently the best conditioned on the court...
I can't wait for this season to start already!!!

It could have been Buycks, too. He was dragging towards the end, had to dive across the baseline, which, BTW, was pretty awesome. GTST
As for the leadership thing, this team will be fine. I think JFB, Fulce, and Buycks are a good core.
Love these videos.
Very entertaining and a great recruiting tool as well.
Great to watch boot camp! It makes the season seem a lot closer. Question... do the red shirt players participate in boot camp?

At about the 8:00 mark, it sure looks like Fulce is running alone. But you're right about Buzz's comments about Buycks.
The season can't come soon enough! GTST!
my legs and lungs hurt just from watching that...
GTST

Yes, the only thing they don't do is play in games.

Jamil is pretty well highlighted in this episode and Buzz mentions Dave as well...

Off topic question: has anyone heard anything about whether Singleton will get a scholarship next year?
The last two have been the best episodes since this thing started. I love that teaching moment he had with Cadougan. As the PG, he can't be afraid to get vocal with guys, even though that's not really his personality.

I highly doubt he will get a scholarship. I would have thought it a possibility on a one year basis if Buzz wanted to bank a scholarship for the very good 2012 in-state class, but Buzz is recruiting everywhere. It should be obvious that Buzz is aggressively trying to fill this team with as many top players as possible, so I wouldn't hold my breath on him leaving a spot open.
How could you watch this and not be TOTALLY convinced that Buzz is the Man.
Those guys are clearly working their asses off in that video. Great stuff.
Looking at Gardner in this video, his physique seems to have improved dramatically versus how he looked in those HS videos that were posted here back when he committed.
Still a big dude (no homo), and still has a way to go, but I think he's making progress.
Anybody else notice this or am I being overly optimistic?

I believe Gardner will see some spot minutes this year. He has a very unique skill set. Buzz said in a previous episode he has the best hands and feet of ANY freshman big man in the country. Buzz isn't one prone to exaggeration or false praise - he believes that about Davante. He also said his conditioning has gotten a LOT better since being on campus and that his confidence level is rising. Would not surprise me for him to legitimately push Otule for the "big man" minutes Buzz chooses to give out.
Buzz is Gunny Sgt. Harman.

You get a good Idea of how tall and Big he is when Joe walks by him. He is at least 2-3 inch's taller than Joe who is probably 6-5 to 6-6 in shoes so Gardner might actually be 6-8 in shoes.
Believe Gardner is at least 6'8" to 6'9" and with his muscular frame will play bigger.
