I posted that topic to generate discussion on a real and an important topic. As of this writing, that thread has received 1,150 views. People are interested.
I ask respectfully that whoever has the authority to lock threads use that same authority to unlock this one.
People get a bit mouthy all the time here. That is no reason to quash discussion on a relevant topic.

No you didn't....hopefully they'll delete this too.

Look on the bright side, if Buzz signs no one in the '11 class, you can pat yourself on the back again.

Perhaps you can finally find the time to respond to your epic Marquette football thread?

I think this is a great idea. Unfortunately, removing the lock and starting up the thread again is not realistic as the start-up costs for the thread have been estimated at approximately $150 million.

MUCam, yours is the first funny, clever reply I have head here in, well, forever.
Made me laugh. Thanks.

The interest is in why it got locked.
Asking to have your own thread unlocked, is an incredibly sad and desperate plea. You're better than that, aren't you?

Not to mention that you'd have to add threads for women's sports.
I would consider trying to walk on if such an opportunity were made available
MerrittsMustache and bobdigi79, come up with your own material. Stop riding MUCam's shirttails and ripping off his funny joke in your pale attempts to be amusing.
Wade for President, you write: "Asking to have your own thread unlocked, is an incredibly sad and desperate plea. You're better than that, aren't you?" (Note punctuation error.)
"Incredibly sad?"
A "desperate plea?"
Uh, no on both accounts. I simply want to discuss why a fine university and a solid basketball program has yet to land a recruit.
Those who have nothing to contribute to this topic need not reply.

What about MU football, can we still discuss that?

Wow. And some people think Chicos hates fun...
Who would have thought that of the Big Three, Wes Matthews would be the one to land in the NBA?

Well played, sir.
MUAVE,
Please reply when you have compiled the RSCI rankings per school and where MU ranks for the class of 2011.
Until then, we are wildly guessing.
We need real numbers before we can all freak out.

Are you a troll? Or are you really that thick that you think it is so exceedingly rare and cause for alarm? It is September! If there was to be any discussion or controversy on this board, I assumed it would revolve around whether we are going to OVERsign again this year. This is not football with 25 scholarships, we have 3 - chill the f*** out.
This is just a stupid topic as there is really nothing to discuss. You seem as though you are wanting to start a fight on here or something....but trying to cause panic over not having a recruit yet (GASP!) is silly.

His freshman year I thought he had the best shot of the three, but then sophomore and junior years tempered it a bit. His tremendous senior season really put him over the top though.
I think he kind of has a point...it is a free board and the topic did generate conversation...just because YOU (all who did not like the thread) did not like it doesn't mean you have to ridicule those that did (and it is clearly obvious some people did want to talk about it)...
Start a new thread. No personal attacks. Problem solved.

Wes is the only one to have had a reasonable shot at it based on his size, commitment, and ability.
Umm...but why start a new thread for this? It's not like the mods are hiding. Send a private message to rocky, or hilltopper, or any other mod and ask them rather than making a public plea. Nothing personal, but this whole thread really just feels like attention whoring :-\
New policy for 2010-11: Hiding.

FACT: Marquette has yet to land any basketball recruits.
FACT: Many other collegiate basketball programs by this time have landed one recruit or more.
This is not a criticism of or an attack on anyone or anything. It is simple mathematics. Where Marquette has zero, some schools have one or more.
Some here, including icheights and me, find this curious and worthy of discussion on a site created for the purpose of discussing curious and worthwhile topics related to Marquette basketball.
If you have a thought on the matter, share it.
If not, I am tempted to say "shut up." But that would be rude.

I have shared it in multiple threads. At this time last year we had 3 scholies available - we landed Vander, Reggie and Jae by April. I wasn't worried then, and I certainly am not worried now.

There was no conversation, it was all personal attacks. The thread wasn't locked because of the title or discussion, it was because of the asshattery that ensued once the thread was off-topic... which happened to be just a few posts into the thread.

Ding ding.
The good news is I really like the phrase asshattery. The bad news is I'll have to ban you for swearing. The good news is that I just used asshattery and so the penalties are off-setting and we'll repeat 3rd down.
I accept my non-ban with humility. I'll now take a break for 2 hours to attend a meeting in which no decisions will be made.
