OK, looks complete now
LOL @ 10am on January 1st.
about time!
The start of the BE season looks like it could be decent, the middle is a little tough (UConn, Syracuse, at Nova, at USF, at Georgetown), but the ending isn't bad (St. Johns, Hall, at UConn, Providence, Cincy, at Hall)
If they can get through that stretch in early February with a record of 3-2, they will be set up nice for the end of the year.
5 times on ESPN or ESPN2 and an additional 4 times on ESPNU...solid
Won't the other games be on the Big East Network? Can't imagine the game at ND not being televised.
Said this on the other thread but that New Years day game is a great hangover activity to watch on TV.

14 total games on the ESPN family. thats pretty awesome.
Looks like some solid day or weekend trips
I love that the two closest games to me (Pitt and ND) are both Saturday games. I'll be at at least one of them. I'm also very interested in a weekend road trip to stay with my brother in DC for the Georgetown game. Last year's schedule was not at all cooperative for me to make it to a game or two. This year looks much better.
My son's birthday is January 10. I'm sure he'd love a surprise trip to Pitt on the 8th. I know I would.
3 home BE games on Saturday
5 home BE during the week
1 home BE on a Sunday
The BC better have the bloody mary bars rockin and rollin for the Jan 1 game.
10 AM? Who will be more drunk...me or huggy bear?
UCONN
Syracuse
@Vill
@ USF
@GT
Here is our grinder part of the schedule...three tough road games in a row area scary.
Senior night on a Wednesday and no marquee Saturday night games, feeling a little slighted
WTF, a 10AM start on New Year's day...
Is this a HS holiday tournament or a Big East game?

Anyone know when ND starts selling single game tickets?

Good Luck getting tickets...When I went 2 years ago, I paid double face for rafter seats. That place has sold out every home game for quite a few years...

Wow, how lucky can you get? Huggins gets to spend New Year's Eve in MKE. I have a call into the Hyatt to remove all coffee tables from his room.

huggy's more of a HoJo kinda guy. get the shuttle to Silk reserved for him....and tell him that he can't lick the faces of the dancers like he did to Desean Butler.

Last time I went, I got them through Marquette without too much difficulty. Hopefully I can do that again. I'm more worried about Georgetown tickets.

Interesting...all 3 times I've gone to Georgetown, I've never had any problems getting tickets...in fact, 2 of the times, there were still seats available at gametime

That's encouraging. I was just talking with my brother who lives in DC and he told me that I'd better make up my mind if I'm coming pretty quickly. He said tickets can be hard to come by. Please PM me and let me know how/where you got yours. Thanks.
Tickets are not hard to find for that Georgetown game. I bought 3 through the MU Alumni Association the night before the game last year...and there were plenty available after that.
We just need to give Penn Quarter Sports Tavern the heads up that we will be there post-game...so they dont run out of Miller Lite again.
There are 4 BE games on New Year's Day and the other game which is on national tv is ND at Syracuse at 2:30 pm on ESPNU.
I'm glad we got the 10AM game so I can get home and see the Rose Bowl and other bowl games.
Best BE schedule we've had yet-----mirror games with ND, SH, UCONN should break 5 & 1 (possible loss at ND). I predict 14 wins & 4 losses.

I'm not too worried about GTown tix either if I do decide to go. I think there could be a smaller MU contingent out there being a Sunday afternoon game, but hey, it's still very doable for us Midwesterners (fly out Saturday afternoon/back Sunday night).
While I still can't figure out for the life of me who's leg we have to dry hump to get a Saturday afternoon game in NYC at the Garden (I know, we're home this year vs. St. John's), going out there for a long weekend and hopping the PATH train from the World Trade Center to Newark (only 20 minutes away) for the Seton Hall game is a very tempting proposition for me (I can't take a whole week off of work in the winter for the Big East Tourney, at least this year).
Also, the 10AM New Years' Day start is cruel and unusual punishment. I'll wager about a third of the crowd minimum is still drunk or hungover from NYE festivities. I made it to 6AM last year on New Years' Eve with a Potowatomi trip for most of the overnight. Let's see if I can survive thru the game this year.

Now that you mention it, after the Saturday game in 2009 when MU fans were noticeably louder than GU fans in the second half, I wonder if Georgetown had anything to do with this game being on a Sunday ;)
At the Bradley Center on New Year's Day.
Marquette at 10AM
Bucks play at 8PM
Who's going to go to a Bucks game at 8 PM on NYD???

I'm sure many will, it's a Saturday night.
Ah...good point.
Murff, I hope you are kidding. 14-4 in the Big East?
If that happens I will drive out to Milwaukee one weekend and we will go to a restaurant of your choice. I think 14-4 is utterly unrealistic unless Otule becomes a 10-point, 8-rebound machine. I'd think an 11-7 record is much more doable.

I completley agree, 14-4 is absolutley unrealistic. I think 10-8 is doable with or 11-7 is much more realistic. I like how we end the season, i think we could easially win our last 6 games.
Huggy Bear is a pro. He has no pressue to overdrink New Years Eve.
YES love the Saturday day games. Kegs and Eggs, day drinking. Wish the University would get more Saturday afternoon games to make up for the lack of college football. Kind of wish that the Wisc game was after finals though.

Back in the days, the Wisconsin game was on New Year's Eve. The best thing for this game is too have it before finals.

If it's the Saturday after finals, a lot of the students in the res halls have already taken off, so we absolutely want to play Wisconsin when school is in session.

Agreed. I finally sat down and looked at it and I got 20-11, 10-8 in conference. Bubblicious.
And re: Georgetown tickets. They have had 6 sellouts in the last 5 years. And I think one of them was their 100th Anniversary celebration against us in '07. Average attendance is well below the capacity, Verizon Center holds 20,000 for hoops. We got 18 group tickets through MU last time with absolutely no issues.

That was awesome. MU folks lined up down the street to get in. People playing drinking games outside. What a day that was.
Yeah good seats can be hard to come by, but it should be easy to get 400 level seats.
