Title: Help a Warrior Out!
Post by: sarcastro on September 15, 2010, 03:32:31 PM
Hey gang,

I hate doing stuff like this but if anybody can take a moment to watch this promo video I'd really appreciate it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzNF3QbIs1I

The deal is I'm participating in a Top Comic competition and part of the event is doing a promo video for the contest.  Anyway, if you can take a moment I'd appreciate it.

For those of you not familar with the original video that I'm riffing on:

Prepare for the Hatorade.

Anybody who pays attention to haters isn't going to make it as a stand up.

I can imagine that is a brutal business.

Best of luck.

Also, I find it interesting that the Spanish OD's generate a lot of posts for whatever they do, and nobody has even commented on your video.

Where are the critics/defenders now?

If sarcastro had a big MU shirt on as he did that video, it'd be a different story.

Same with the SOD's.  If they did generic, non-MU videos, they'd just be another mildly talented group on Youtube and few would care on way or the other.

This is a board for a school in Wisconsin. Should we have all seen this video of a guy running from Governor in Tennessee?

with that said... good luck in the contest.

I'm not sure why wearing an MU shirt makes them open to more criticism.

"They said the name of my school, now I hate this video!"

/Shakes fist in the air in anger.

Seriously?  You need an explanation?  Or was that supposed to be teal.

Same reason this is embarrassing.

Your style is like Mitch Hedberg, but delivered too quickly.  You also seem a bit nervous, stumbling through your own jokes.  It makes it tough to buy into the story when I'm fixated on the delivery idiosyncrasies.

That newsperson lead in was terrible.  Like... I almost closed the video but didn't cause it was linked from muscoop and I like the people here.

I don't know anything about comedy, which like art is totally subjective.  Best of luck to you, homie! :D

I think that style was intentional in order to mock the guy in clip 2.

The original video was featured on the Daily Show and Colbert Report and the candidate has since been on Jimmy Kimmel and other talk shows.  For the other comments regarding my style- that's all a take off of the original video.

But that's neither here nor there- thanks for watching the video and helping me out.

You do realize that you just equated Mitch Hedberg to Basil Marceaux.  I don't know which of the two should be more upset about that.

Any Warriors in Richmond VA can come out and see me at the Fbomb Festival (fbombva.com) this Saturday.  I'll be opening for Doug Stanhope.  I will not be doing my Basil Marceaux impression.
