Heard he was hooping it up at the old gym this past weekend with the guys. Any info on where he is going next year?
had workouts w/ the bulls and spurs in the past 2 days
@stevenovak20 Worked out for the Bulls y'day & Spurs today & tomorrow. I feel great about both!
I talked to Novak about a week ago outside of the Al and he did confirm that the Bulls were showing "serious interest" in signing him along with one other team that he would not specify (my guess is the Spurs from what he posted on Twitter). The Bulls already have a Novak-type player in Kyle Korver who they also signed this off-season. The Bulls also have a pretty deep roster this upcoming season, but it would be awesome if the Bulls took a chance on Novak. I'm sure a lot of Marquette students from the "Chicago Suburbs" would be happy :-)
Probbly wishful thinking, but assuming both the Bulls and Spurs look to sign him, the Bulls may have an edge in that his wife's family is still in the western burbs of Chicago I believe.Would to see him with drive and kick PG like Rose.
I don't know what MIA's roster is looking like, but I'm surprised they aren't interested.
Admittedly, Steve is a 1 trick pony... but he's so good at it that you could play him for 5 min. per night and he could still shoot 40%+ from 3pt and possibly hit some big shots throughout the season.
Surprised several teams haven't given him more of a look.

Was Steve Kerr a "multi-trick" pony during the championship era for the Bulls? I'd think Novak could play that role well enough.

thing is, Kerr got big minutes. he might have only had one outstanding skill, but if memory serves he was good enough at everything else to see a lot of the court. Novak wouldn't be that way, and if you want his big shooting at the end of the game, coaches are hesitant to bring an ice cold player off the bench to shoot a big shot.

Kerr and Novak aren't a fair comparison. Obviously I don't want to be negative on Novak, but can he guard his position? I don't watch much NBA, but maybe more of a comparison to what the Bucks had with an aging Del Curry? I get the thought of the Heat, but I think the lack of interest has to be contributed solely to his defensive ability. You put him on the court with the big three in Miami and there are four players who you can't help off of, but that Riley guy seems to know what he's doing, and they have the same thing in Mike Miller...difference being Miller can defend his position better.

Miami is currently loaded. 15 vets plus 5 rookies.
Chicago looks to only have 11 vets on the squad and the Spurs have what looks like 10. There appear to be openings on both 15 man rosters.

Yep. When Kerr was with the Bulls, he could bring the ball up the court, defend the opposing point guard, etc. If you gave Novak's shooting ability to Travis Deiner, you'd have Steve Kerr.
