A few things:
*Stevie Clark, 2013, PG, 5'8, 160lbs, Douglass (OK), Athletes First- Entering his sophomore year, Clark already has an offer from Marquette. He mentioned Arizona, Lamar, Wichita State, and Kansas as other schools that are showing interest.
*AJ Hammons, 2012, C, 6'11, 260lbs, Oak Hill Academy (VA), Spiece Indy Heat- Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, and Xavier have already offered the Indiana native. Marquette, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Kentucky have shown interest.
*Willy Kousassi (Birmingham, Al./Central Park Christian)
6'10" C – Team Alabama 2011
Kouassi was the best big man in the River City Showdown and the Memphis staff took note. With Willis Wilson on hand for Team Alabama's first game on Thursday and Josh Pastner on hand for a few more the remainder of the weekend, Kouassi dominated most of his games on the defensive end while being the top rebounder in the tournament. We first told you after night one of the River City Showdown that the Memphis staff's interest would be piqued, and now Team Alabama's head coach Darien Knox has confirmed that he has, indeed, fielded calls from the Memphis staff.
Memphis now tries to join a long list of teams like UAB, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Marquette, South Carolina, and others.
*J-Mychal Reese (Bryan, TX /Bryan)
6′1″ G – Houston Hoops 2012
Reese is a smooth lefty combo guard with a great first step. He can beat defenders to the lane and knock down mid range pull ups and floaters with touch and body control. He is an excellent shooter and knocked down the three effectively last week at the King James Skills Academy. Reese listed offers from Texas A&M, Texas, Kansas, Memphis and Baylor, with interest coming from Wake Forest, North Carolina, Marquette and Illinois.

Kouassi would be just what the doctor ordered. Nice to see Buzz is shifting his focus beyond small forwards
You think that Buzz has not tried to get bigs?

No. Of course not. I know Buzz works hard and knows we need size. Don't worry.
That was a half sarcastic comment, just funny to me so many of the recruits we've been said to be in on this year are small forwards.
It's great to see Buzz in early on every recruit that ends up getting serious interest from traditional D1 bball powers. He sure seems to have a talent for recruiting top tier players and identifying them as such before they're on other coach's radars.
A 5'8" PG. Kid better be faster than the blazes. Definitely good to see us as mentions with bigs, though keep in mind this is noting that WE are interested, not vice versa.

Kids entering their sophomore year in high school have been known to grow.

A lot of the kids at the Peach Jam have either already given a verbal or have trimmed their list (at least the good ones).
Buzz has been recruiting Willy for two years already...he is not just getting in on him.

Yep, I've been hearing him mentioned with MU for a while.
