How hard will it be with 10 kids coming back, basically 2 players at each position?
Otule
Gardner
Crowder
Williams
Wilson
Jones
DJO
Blue
Smith
Cadougan
I think it will be really difficult? He could take a project big and
maybe can find 1 Top 50 recruit, if he does that, to me, that would
be successful. Kids want to play, play right now!
We will see. Don't settle for Crean level recruiting.
I look at that balanced roster (that we have been striving for since 2003) and I foresee many wins... Winning goes along way to attract competitive, top tier recruits.
I hate to pee in the Kool Aid but I don't understand how people think we are going to be this amazing team next year. I am hopeful, but we have only two players coming back next year that have proven that they can produce consistently at a high level. As for everyone else, we have to hope that every takes this next step in their development. And we all know that rarely happens (meaning that every player on a team progresses). So we shall see how intimidated a five star gets when looking at MU's roster. Also, there is no way a high quality big can look at our team and think he could not compete for playing time.

I agree that there are a lot of unknowns. The only thing is, a lot of good players left the Big East this year and I don't know which team is really going to dominate this conference this year. I'd be scared to go into 2009 with this team we have now, but it is reasonable to predict 10 wins or so with two All-Big East candidates and the caliber of recruits we have had.
I agree on bigs. We are taking baby steps though. Step one, get a player over 6'7 onto the court.

No reason to stop expecting 10 wins when MU's gotten there every year in the Big East.
