By any chance has there been any word yet on the reported "appeal" to play this year by Jamil?
-
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think there was ever a reported appeal for Jamil. That was more conjecture on the board. I don't think there are any legs to it.
-
it was something jamil said in an interview, then he later stated that it was his idea and he had never consulted MU coaches or staff about it.
-
Actually, it started in an Andy Katz article in which Andy was talking about transfers. He was using Jamil as an example of a possible waiver of a redshirt year due to family issues (his mother passed away 2 years ago). Theoretical, but highly unlikely.
-
Is their a downside to appealing? You can ask and the NCAA can say no. JW would be no worse off.

NCAA and was waiting to hear back

Yup, on 1250, I would guess its not going to happen. So we'll have 5 sophomores on the roster next year...So much for balancing classes.
-
I wonder what the odds are that we will have 5 sophomores next year?

Jamil is definately going to be appealing. His facebook status was about praying the ncaa grants him this year.

Pray all he wants, but why would the NCAA grant him his wishes....how is his situation any different then any other guy who transfers after the coach leaves.

Maybe the NCAA will do the right thing for a change. I won't hold my breath.

The right thing would be to not grant it and I am pretty sure that is what will happen.
