Just home from a charity golf fundraiser- Pat Richter, former UW at Madison AD was the after-dinner speaker. While generally boring, he did eventually mention how great it was to have a fine institution like Nebraska join the big ten, expressed mock sympathy for Kansas and Missouri, and stated that he felt Delainey would "squeeze Notre Dame" a bit more before dismantling the Big East by taking Pittsburgh and Rutgers. Wow.

Well he was the top Wiener at one point in his career so this should be no surprise....oh, and he also was the head of Oscar Meyer.
The delusions of grandeur from the Big 10 continue. The only thing special about the Big 10 is that they were first to create their own network and thus harness that extra money. Once the other schools realized that they didn't have to join the Big 10 to get this money and could simply create their own tv networks, order was restored (I hope) with the Big12 remaining intact. I have no idea what took them so long, I have been saying this since day 1. I thought it would have been obvious. Now that the conferences will all likely create their own networks, the Big 10 will go back to being the mediocre conference it is.
The Big 10 is crazy if they think losing Rutgers and Pitt would dismantle the Big East. I think MU and fans of college basketball can breathe easy for at least a little while.
I hit richter's house with a golf ball once. Best hook ever.
Richter, while connected, has been out of UW for awhile. I wouldn't put too much stock into what he is saying here. The Illinois President just yesterday said that 12 was enough.
Also, Richter was never the head of Oscar Meyer...he was the VP for Human Resources.

Tell me his house is in the middle of a fairway. What did you make on the hole? As far as correcting that hook, I want you place your ball a little further back in your stance, try to breathe normally, loosen your grip and take a shorter stroke. Practice this in the shower until you can get it right. ;D
If all else fails, get yourself a stiffer shaft.

USGA Rule 18.81: If a ball in play should strike the property and/or person of a current or former University of Wisconsin Administrator, the player shall immediately score 2 strokes under par and proceed to the next hole.

Even better, he was head wiener for all the wieners at Oscar Meyer....ensuring wiener happiness.
