Interesting-- with the rumor of 15 tx legislator baylorites trying to mess with texas schools' pac 10 joinder, the pac 10 apparently negated their influence/threat by clarifying colo gets pac 10 offer...not baylor.
This allows the other 5 (tx, TAMU,Tech,Okla,OKst)to accept, en masse, w/o any baylor string or hold up--smart move pac10.

I guess Delaney isn't the only genius in this game.

A brilliant move .... that, to some degree, also liberates A&M --- SEC?

TAMU = Texas A & M University . . . they're going to the Pac-10.

Um, I know the abbreviation since I grew up in College Station.  The point is that with traditional Texas politics somewhat neutered in this instance by the PAC-10's brilliant move to sign CU on first, the Ags have a measure of freedom they did not have before.   It's not just me saying it, http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/andy_staples/06/10/aggies.options/index.html#?eref=sihp  Even Gene Stallings won't dismiss it, http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/longhorns/entries/2010/06/10/stallings_on_po.html?cxntfid=blogs_bevo_beat  Still, I think pressure to remain the little sister to UT will prevail, sadly.

For years Aggies have toyed with the idea of moving to the SEC, which they originally wanted to do before opting for the Big 12.  A&M is much more of a regional brand than UT(even in the Lone Star State -- the Aggies own East Texas in many respects) -- which is part of the reason LSU won't schedule A&M in the regular season anymore.

I agree. Aggies bitterly resent implication of automatically following UT. Sherrill tried to get LSU rivalry, but LSU let it fade, for reason you state. All that said, I am still guessing 60/40 that A &M will flirt more with SEC (not be able to deliver OU to SEC--which may be key), and it will "independently" announce its independent decision to join with the 5 in the Pac 10 east division.

Here's a pretty good article about A&M and the SEC.
